I'm looking to purchase a '21 GT or possibly a leftover '20. I have recently read a significant amount of negativity in regards to the MT-82 manual. Has this transmission been improved for '21 in any way. I know that the Tremec will be the manual for the Mach 1 but I'm not interested in that model.

Hi Scott and welcome to the forum. There are many, many threads on the MT82. Just do a search for them.

Here’s one:

Long story short, no changes for 21’. The MT82 is just fine. Go place your order! :like:

There's no issues with the 20202 MT82. And the only issues there ever was with the 2018 MT82-D4 transmissions, was aluminum shift-forks that were switched back to steel very quickly.

Purchase with confidence.

If you haven't driven an MT-82 make sure you do before buying. It was an expensive lesson to trade in after 3k miles in my case. I'd only buy the Mach 1 with the Tremec if I was going back to a stick.

Had a 2018 and have a 2019, transmission seemed/seems fine in both. Swap the fluid and forget about it. It's notchy in cold weather but that's all I have to complain about.

Remember too that people post their problems and rants in forums like this. Rarely do you see a post that says "there is nothing wrong with my car".

Every manufacturer is going to a certain percentage of problems with some of their components. Of that, a certain percentage of people will complain about it. It doesn't mean that they are all bad, or that you should go buy a Chevy instead.

Agreed, I love mine. One of the better manuals I've driven in this life with the improvements they made.

For a daily driver it's okay. Not great but it works. Still a lot more fun than an auto.
