In your picture, directly below the trunk latch mechanism is a light colored something that looks like the tab in the trunk of my 21 coupe. Your trunk lid lining has been removed but my tab is to the right and slightly below the latch mechanism.

Precisely what I was thinking, you can see it's stuck up in there.

Thanks for all the input so far.
But as you can see, theres nothing attached there.
(see this closeup pic, is a small plastic. Its not the T handle)

A couple years ago, we had a rental ecoboost 2019 and I know exactly where its supposed to be. (its just not there, unfortunately)

I wish it was easy as you guys suggests…But I even used a flaslight and looked inside the crevices.

OK then. Time to bring the car back to the dealer. They will find/fix it for you.

Thanks for the replies.
In my original post I actually, was just curious to know if certain models or package did not have it or if they stopped putting it in 2021.
It was more like a psa. (To me its minor issue and its fixable)

There is no reason it should have been deleted so that’s probably an assembly error.

As the release is federally mandated the chance that it was missed is highly unlikely. Not impossible, just not likely.
I was agreeing with Brian that it was prob an assembly error.

Imo, its prob Covid related supply/ materials issue. Lots of parts were backordered.

In any case, I would ask the dealer to take a look at it next week.

Just FYI, Ford cannot release a car for sale unless all Federally mandated equipment is installed. Just for shirts and giggles can you see where the cable would be attached to the lock mechanism? If yes, what’s there?

Edit: check this out. Thanking this picture might help.

Thanks,

The pic that I posted previously has the correct diagram for a convertible.

The cable on the left goes to the convertble’s manual keyed trunk release in the rear seat behind drivers. from the diagram, it supposed to have a cable attached to it for the emergency relase tab. (Mine does not.)

There‘s no other cable aside from the 2 that you see here.
One is connected to the manual keyed release, and the other to the factory wire harness.

Update:

I took the cover off again and I found an unused cable slot on the right side of the trunk latch. ( see pic)

And to put some of you at ease, I got a better close-up pic of that piece of plastic in question…lol.

So, no...its not in there somewhere, unfortunately…
