2019 Mustang Horn - Single Tone - Solution

does anyone know if 22 base models come with single or dual horns? The honk sounds pretty quiet so I'm assuming single?

I thought I replied on how I did the horn replacement. If I didn't, here's how I did it. With the Bullitt it was way too much work playing with the air box and all attached parts, so I removed about 5 clips on the fender well. That allowed my to push it in enough to reach the horn. Disconnected harness and removed the one bolt that holds it in place. Horn comes out easily. Attaching the dual horn was a bit of a pain because the second horn makes it difficult to reach around and attach the bolt that holds the unit in place. Once it got the bolt started it was easy. Plugged the horns in, put back the fender well push clips and was good to go. The dual horns make a huge difference. Now I'm not embarrassed to use my horn.

I recently purchased a 2019 Mustang GT. The first time I locked the car, the beep from the horn sounded like a cheap econo box from the 90's. Having previously owned a 16 EB it did not sound correct. My EB had one of the 2 horns go out during warranty which was the sound the 19 made. Thinking i got a bad horn from the factory I did some research to find that 2019 mustangs (Built after 5/18) come with a single tone horn. This is frustrating for a $50,000 car!

Ford announced a "service replacement" part to change out your single tone for the correct dual tone horn.
Part # KR3Z-13832A (wrong part) I ordered one (begrudgingly) from Ford for around $25. It arrived today, it’s the incorrect part, still a single tone despite being labeled a dual tone.

The CORRECT PART is JR3Z-13832-A

This is an unfortunate cost save that really takes away from the car.

If your horn on your 19 mustang is weak, you may have the single tone. This has been noted on Bullet cars as well on this forum, but did not pop up easily when searched in google.

One of the first things I did after getting my 2019 GT was order this horn. Took a while to figure out how to get my big meat hooks in there, but the honk honk is infinitely more suitable than the beep beep it came with!
