Hey folks,

Not looking to get flamed here on my first post. Did a quick search and did not find a quick answer. I am ready to pull the trigger on a 2019 GT350. Seen some dealers putting dealer markups of $5K on the cars and seen some selling at MSRP. Anyone know of examples of sales under MSRP? I made an offer under MSRP and so far no deal. Its a fantastic car, but like anything else its going to depreciate, so I don't want to start out too far in the hole. With the 2020 GT500 and 2020 GT350 going on sale soon, there's got to be some room to move on the 2019. Thoughts?

Thanks,

John

the 19's just started hitting the ground mid april... unlikely any dealer is going to feel pressure to dump them because of the 2020's this early on... but over winter you could find '18's for 3-5k under msrp... or at least they were advertised as such...

i'm not saying there won't be some deals... just not for the reasoning you suggested IMO... good luck!

I am sure if you do your due diligence you can find one. My question to you is will that 1 or 2 grand on a 66K car make that much of a difference to you. I am just saying there are a lot of GT350's out there for MSRP that you can pick from. You might find one for a few k under but will it be your prefered color and options? Find one you like at MSRP and buy it and enjoy it. I was going to stand my ground as I have never purchased at or above MSRP in my life. Screw that as I have found one coming to a local dealer in two weeks exactly how I would have ordered one. That is my thoughts.

I think you may have to wait a bit to find one under MSRP. I started looking at 2018s in late August last year and was able to find several under MSRP at that time. However I decided to wait until April and was able to buy one exactly as I would have ordered it for under invoice. But I do admit that I cut it a bit close. There were very few 2018s with the convenience package left by that point.

I got my 2019 for invoice but it seems I got a bit lucky. I also started the process back in November of last year. I know one other person supposedly did also, so they're out there. Really depends on the state.. in California they're still going for markup.

Thank you all for the prompt responses. Some great info that helps me validate that it is possible. I am not in a hurry, so there really is not urgency except the excitement of getting one. I "Should" sell my Superformance Cobra first before I by a 350 anyway. Orangegrower, your question of the $1k-$2k is one I have gotten in trouble with in the past. The challenge I have is that I $1-$2k my way from a GT to a Bullitt to a GT350. :-) So at some point I have to reign myself in.

Thanks again all and I look forward to the wealth of information from this forum as continue my quest.

I completely understand as I think all of us have done that in the past. Good luck on your search.

I was lucky. I did my research and found many dealers in GA were willing to make a deal. The dealer I went with had one used, two new, and two on the way in. They were also not near any major location, so not a lot of people in the area had that kind of money to spend. When I started spouting off production numbers and actual cost (which you can find on line) and that the GT500 was going to drive the market down.... Well I got lucky.
So I actually I paid about 1,763 under invoice. If you take a base model invoice of $56,183 and add all the extras ( mine had everything except stripes and black roof) add in gas guzzler tax and destination fee

All my local dealers are charging $1K-$3K ADM, plus they were combinations that were not my 1st preference. I have been scouring the net, and today I just took the plunge reserving (with a down payment) a '19 GT350 for approx. $1200 under MSRP with no doc fee. It is Kona Blue w/ black stripes, black roof, electronics package, & leather seats, which is exactly how I would have ordered it if I would have. I am really excited, and it is an upgrade from a '15 GT PP. The dealer is in Indiana, and coincidentally I have a business trip in a couple weeks within 2-hours of them, so I am planning on flying out, then driving the GT350 back home. This car had just got to them, and it sounds like a lot of deliveries are happening now. Keep looking, there are a few deals out there.

Those last two posts are some great deals! FLETCshooter Shoot me a pm with the dealers. I have to go to Columbus every once in a while.

The "market here is a bit perplexing to me. I made a different offer which I was told was only "$500 above invoice" and also declined. (I don't believe "invoice" is any kind of real number like it use to be). So far no counter offers have been made. Both stating MSRP is their bottom line. Both GT350s still in inventory. Same two dealerships have 6 Bullitt models between them. When I inquired about them around new year the line was $3k over MSRP. I get that they want to make money but I thought the real money was on used cars and service.

Just went back and rechecked my math against "invoice" price. My last offer was $1200 over Invoice.

FWIW I'll be $1500 net under MSRP: Note that's an ordered GT350 (loaded) not inventory so they're not carrying costs before the sale and for me the bad part is the tortuously long wait/late summer delivery. For immediate gratification, like driving July to Sept, I would have preferred my orig MSRP local eal that fell through.(Ford's allocation games).
I wouldn't pay over MSRP. - might as well wait for 2020 and get hit with whatever cost increase that brings along with possibly some functional goodies too.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Getting what you want is more important than getting under by 2-3%. I made that decision when I found and purchased my 17gt350. Many examples all around at 55k. 25 cars within 500miles. 2 were Magnetic, the color I wanted. KBB said market is 47 on the low end. Eventually, I had to come to terms that while kbb and Nada said one thing, the market was saying another. I paid more, knowing that they will use kbb/nada values against me if I trade it in. But I’m driving the car configured exactly how I wanted it.

Though, for the money, the stereo sucks.

I hear ya...but economics 101. Low supply, higher demand = opportunity to charge more. However, you always have a choice to pay or walk.
