I picked up a used black GT emblemed rear decklid w/camera. I am going to reuse the one that came with car. Before I put the camera up for sale I was wondering if I could mount it in the front grill and somehow wire it into the rear and have both when I switch to reverse or if the B&O had an aux video input? I'd like to see distance of curb when parking.

Good idea, curious to see the responses and if it can be done!

just curious as to how you'd use that front mounted camera to pull up to a curb, but have to have the car in reverse to have it come on? Would you pull up to where you thought you were close, then put car in reverse to see how far away you were, then pull up forward more if needed and put car in reverse again to check distance again?

You can set so the camera stays on while in drive up to 10mph.

In worst case scenario i would do as @jimmerheck describes. all I think is that one switch to reverse is needed to gauge distance to curb. The system that @swooshdave links to looks very interesting, but i do not trust chinese electronics. there are a few reverse systems with folding 5" lcd's for $25 on alibaba. Worst case scenario I might go for one of those. I just find it real annoying after spending 55k on a car there is no front sensor or camera that can be std or optional on this car. Ford just wants you to pull in till you hear Crunch.

Yes probably 99% of it is. but since Ford sells it there are laws that it has to be available for "X" amount of years. With this aftermarket setup as cheap as it is you will never get any warranty out of this company and let alone you'll never be able to find them when it does blow. I don't want to do all the work involved to install to have it F up and possibly short out the whole electrical system

There are much more expensive options than the cheap Chinese unit. They should be in that thread too.
