have a 19 bullitt here, after driving the car for awhile, let it sit while taking some photos and as i got in it and started backing up i lost reverse cam, gear indication, cross traffic alert, blis, and a couple other electronic errors popped up, removed battery cable and replaced that fixed the issue, then happened again about twenty minutes later after stopping at a friends and starting to back out of the driveway, this time i just started driving and everything kind of started coming back on its own once air started moving through everything. Is this a common issue with the electronics on the 18-19's? or should i be concerned enough to take my car back to the dealer and see if they can replicate the issue?

Regardless of whether it's common or not, I'd be getting the dealer to chase it up.

Whatever caused it may have resulted in a code being logged. You don't want to be putting up with this fault every two days for the next five years....I'd be heading back to the dealer if it was my car. Good luck and let us know what they find.

Agree with Jimmy G. Take that puppy in.
I have a 2019 Bullitt with the same issue. Took it to the dealer and they reprogrammed BCM but happened again 20 miles latter.
It’s happened 5 times in two months
The problem I have is that when you shut the car off and restart it resets and leaves no codes.
Dealer wants me to leave it so they can drive it until it happens with them.
I look forward to seeing if you get yours fixed, I will post updates.

The reverse cam symptom in most cases would indicate a failure at the trunk lid harness.

This would be the short length of harness on right side (passenger) and you will see it when trunk is open. On the 2015-2017’s, this was a very common failure point and there’s a Ford TSB on it. The only way to tell if it is truly that harness, you would have to remove the black conduit sheathing and look for broken wires.

The reason for the failure is simple - the harness is either too short in design OR when installed at the factory, the body harness that it’s branching off from has been installed in such a way that has decreased the operational length of the trunk lid harness.

If the trunk lid harness is too short, when the trunk is being used (opened) the wires inside the conduit are being stretched. The over extension of those wires inside the conduit (from opening/closing trunk lid) will eventually cause a break, resulting in loss of certain functions. If when the wires broke and there’s any bare wire exposed inside the conduit, another result would be a short which will blow the fuse IF constant contact between bare wires is made.

The fuse that controls what you have explained would fail if that harness has shorted.

Now I haven’t heard of any failures yet in the 2018-19’s - however that does not mean it can’t happen.

Being that you have a 2019 with the 3/36 still being fresh, take it to the Dealer and let them diagnose. You don’t want to mess with anything where they can say or determine you have, because then they’ll place blame on owner error and deny warranty repair (ie: you’ll pay out of pocket).

Post up your results, because I’m really curious if your 2019 symptoms are related to that harness. On my 2018, already accrued 30k on it and no issues with that harness or functions tied to it. On my prior 2016, backup cam and other related functions on that fuse failed in under 5k miles and the Service Center repaired per TSB.

Here’s the TSB that is applicable to the 2015-17’s:

2019 Bullitt update:
Took it back to the dealer. They tried to give it back because they could not duplicate. It failed 5 minutes into my drive home.I had to show the tech how to trigger the failure.

Dealer replaced ECM, BCM, Gateway and other components. Still failed, but they admitted there was a problem.
After that the dealer had the car for almost 2 months, technicians were brought in from Ford to CA and could not fix it,.
Ford bought it back. Not the result i wanted but at least i'm not out any money.

Sorry to hear that. So the buyback was finalized? Any compensation your way?

Ford took $200 off for depreciation. Then they paid off the bank and I got a check for the balance of my payments and fees. Nothing extra. They did offer $2000 off the purchase of a new Ford. The car has 3400 miles on it . I had a Lawyer involved, I'm guessing Ford didn't like that.
