Pypes is sending me the o2 extension, no luck on getting correct hardware. Beefcake has been awesome in adding advice and having my back, even after the sale.

Alright, here's the update. Both headers are in.

This is how you have to do the passenger side:
  • Loosen the ac compressor, all three bolts until one or two turns are left to create room for header to slide over top forward stud
  • Remove both motor mount brackets, not the mounts themselves but the connection brackets, and tension the engine toward the driver side
  • Remove all studs except for the two for the forward-most cylinder, replace all studs after sliding on header
  • Floor jack needs to come in from the driver side if you're doing it on the shop floor
  • Construct a wooden "block" out of some 2x4 and wood screws that fits in the groove of the jack head and has a small second piece to keep the main 2x4 from flipping sideways while lifted
  • Don't lift the engine as far as you think you may need to
  • Do not remove the battery or battery box, I did no work from up top, instead tightened the bolt above the ac lines from the wheel well with long extensions
Some pics of what I am talking about:

Here's where things are still shit....

Pypes includes one 12" o2 extension, I can confirm that you need (2) extensions. The included extension is for the front passenger o2 sensor, well, it's not long even for that!! I have sent a heater to Pypes, I am frustrated and right now, would NOT recommend a Pypes product. Allow me to be emotional, this is a PITA install and you shouldn't have to deal with not having what you need to complete the work included.

Even with the chassis harness unclipped, it's too short:

If you're keeping score, neither the driver side or passenger side front o2 sensors can plug up.....

Ugh.

I'm irritated, and I'm not even working on it. It's causing flashbacks of previous PITA installs from my previous life.

Talked with Pypes, sounds like they did no product testing with the 10r80 transmission... What a miss...

Pypes called me and they did not test on the A10. They need to manufacture new extensions with no eta.

I loaded the tune from PBD and fired the car knowing the front passenger o2 sensor is not connected. Wanted to test for fuel leaks.

Still waiting on a solution from Pypes...........

Tmrw I'm pulling the plugs and gapping down to .026 as recommended by PBD.

One step closer I guess, racing season is almost over :(

I was supposed to receive some stuff from Pypes yesterday, but it came today. It's still not everything I need to connect the o2 sensors to safely drive the car on a fresh tune..still twiddling my thumbs waiting on a temporary solution while they manufacture the proper extensions.

Can you just grab some quality wire, solder and heat shrink and extend the harness yourself? I know it's not ideal, but at least it would be done? I did this on my 99 twin turbo cobra and never had an issue, although they weren't wideband O2's like these cars.

Last ditch effort, yes. I am hoping they send two extensions I can try. And if the resistance is too much I'll cut them and soldier them together.

I did fire the car again tonight after gapping the plugs and it won't idle without pedaling. I'm sure O2 related.

O2 sesnors are connected up. Still looking to Pypes to send correct length extensions when they get them made.

The plugs were gapped and the tune was loaded. Unfortunately, three codes and the car won't idle. I guess I need to wait until after the holiday for PBD to return to work to look at my idle logs to find out the problem..

My karma must be bad bc lately my luck with smooth modifications to the mustang is non-existent!

Car is stuck in the garage until the tune works.
