Howdy!

I am looking at purchasing the Roush Axle Back Exhaust for my 2018 GT. I wanted to ask for user opinions before purchasing. I had originally planned to install an X-pipe, but the sound of the axle back with the stock resonator is amazing on YouTube (CJ pony parts video).

How much louder is the exhaust over stock? Maybe too loud? The exhaust sounds very aggressive and louder compared to stock in the video clips. In my opinion, it does not have the raspy sound of an X-pipe alone.

I have the Roush axle back on my 18. It is definitely not too loud. I have a magnaflow resonated xpipe and the Roush axle back. It is a little louder with a really nice tone. Not raspy at all and no drone. Almost too quiet for me. I start mine every day at 6:30am so my neighbors appreciate it. I may end up going with a cat delete which will certainly ramp up the volume a bit. I hope its the sweet spot for me. I started with an hpipe resonator delete and stock axle back and it was way too raspy for me. The resonated xpipe was the perfect combo of upgrade without too much noise or rasp. After the fact I'm still a little on the fence if I should have gone with the Lethal axle back instead. The Roush only has stock sized tips and the Lethal has 4" black tips. It looks like it might be a bit lighter as well since it simply has resonated pipes instead of muffler cans. Good luck with your decision but the Roush does sound very nice!

Another thing to consider is your plan for future mods;, more specifically deleting the cats via a product like the MAK cat deletes or a set of cat-less headers.

If/when you delete the cats and combine that with the Roush AB's and an x-pipe will make the car so loud it will be on the verge of undriveable. And the cold-start without cats is NASCARish loud.

Ask me how I know....

I like the stock exhaust, but it is not loud enough. I believe the active exhaust would've been sufficient (normal to sport mode). However, I purchased a GT without the active exhaust option.

What is the benefit of a cat delete?
