Ive noticed my new 2018 mustang GT has a weak crank up a lot of times. When I turn it on, itll start at around 400rpm then make its way up. My 2016 mustang gt which I had before was always a nice strong crank every time. Is this happening to anyone else?

No. Mine always seems to crank right up. Have you had your battery tested?

I have seen people report in certain situations it will have a weak startup but shouldnt be a lot. If its repeatable id take to dealer. I encountered it once, was a rainy day and I just swung by daycare to get the little one and i think with having the doors open a little bit to buckle her in the car. i started it and it seemed to stumble. but just the 1 time.

Had it several times. It's clutch pedal not pressed enough...

From a cold start, my 2018 GT fires up at 1300 RPM and then drops down to 800 after about a minute. It will idle a little lower than that once it reaches optimal operating temperature. I've only had my Mustang for about a month but I've never experienced what you're describing.

Battery voltage is nice and strong. Voltage rests at around 12.6 when car is off. It happens like around 4 times a week. It has always done it even when I first got the car. My car is automatic as well.

Voltage isn't the key to cranking. I would get a free test at autozone.

I think I might know or get what you mean. Well for instance on my side. If I’m in track mode I drive etc when I’m turning the car off I guess I leave it in track mode and turn off the car, however when before I shut off the car I switch track to normal mode then I shut the car off I don’t get that ever that was always a mystery to me. My only conclusion is maybe the active exhaust damper stays fully open and when starting the car before start the damper doesn’t slightly close being from the car had shut off in track mode maybe? Maybe I over thought about your post much more then what you meant to say. Sorry about that lol

When my battery was on the way out, noticed the car trying to compensate and charging voltage got pretty high.

Better to get it tested though. How old is your battery?
