All this stuff you guys want will just drive up the cost of the Mustang. The aftermarket already supplies you with these things--just get a base and start modding.
agreed that most of it is offered aftermarket (mag ride and HUD not so much....) but there are several guys like me who want a factory car set up right out of the box without the hassle/cost of modding a brand new car.

Agreed. 99% of after market parts end up being complete crap and end up created a rabbit hole of problems

Damn, so DI will most likely happen for 2018. I, myself would have loved to have 40hp & 40lb/torque to keep up with the new SS. Been through a warranty headache so I learned my lesson, not modding my GT for the time being.

Get the performance and drop about 100 lbs, the Stang will be hitting low to mid 12's!

I'm okay with a more expensive mustang as long as I am getting my money's worth. To me the new 1LE is everything I want in a car....."base car" 1SS, standard features are rumored to be Recaros, dual mode exhaust, mag ride, 305s in back and 275s up front with lighter wider wheels, HUD (previously only available on 2SS models), Brembos on all 4 corners. Ill gladly pay a higher tag if it means i get that stuff and not cute pony lights under the mirrors, heated/cooled seats, and reconfigurable ambient lighting etc. I hope Ford answers with an 18 PP that is actually comparable. Remember too, ford specing things like rear brembos is nothing like adding a $2000 set yourself....costs them much less. I would've gladly paid $600 more to have rears that don't look like crap.
This is no rumor, officially confirmed when the car was revealed. Also has e-diff and model specific trac control.

Or, at least more options, for those that can afford/want them.
Exactly. I don't want a Camaro, this Gen just doesn't tickle my balls like the last one. That being said, the options offered on the Camaro SS have IMO become the standard. Chevy has raised the bar pretty high and if I cannot get mag ride, a good manual trans, and active quad exhaust, then I am just not interested. I could do w/o the exhaust option, but not the other 2....those are mandatory at this point in the game.

It is possible these things will not be offered, and then it is on to plan B.

You have no idea what you're talking about. The aftermarket support for the Ford Mustang is the largest of any vehicle I've ever owned. And the majority of major aftermarket companies, especially the ones sponsored on this forum, produce product as good or better quality than OEM.

I can sympathize with that. There is something to be said about having a high-performing totally stock car--I like the idea. Just keep in mind that the more stock performance you want out of a vehicle, the more the entry price is going to be. Look at what is happening to the new Camaro. It performs extremely well, but it's also more expensive than ever and isn't selling worth a damn. Too much out of the box performance and you have to raise the price, driving a good % of your audience away.

Ford GT and Ford Raptor, anywhere else?
Yes. The 2017 F150. If Ford has it in their bad of tricks hopefully they would put it on the 5.0. It adds complication which isn't good but could solve the carbon build up problem which would be worth it. Not to mention once the tuners figure it out the power potential on stock fuel system could be really impressive.

Well, I was in the market for a Mustang GT now. So I'm glad the 5.0 was not DI in a carbon building format, one less thing to worry about.

As someone who is on the inside on Mustang news, I highly recommend those trying to buy a Mustang soon, to wait until 2018MY. Some very big changes. I myself have an EB and am eagerly waiting till 2017 for me to swap up.

And if you're looking to get a V6, might want to get one quick. It is not long for this world.
