I followed this guys procedure on my wife's jeep. Doesn't burn oil and we always get better than advertised mpg. I babied my mach 1 and it burns oil like a mother effer.

Yeah, modern engines don't really need babied for 1000 miles. I take it easy for 100 miles, mainly for the sake of the tires. I haven't really run it to race level, but I haven't been light on the gas pedal.

You will be pleased! So far, the few miles I drove home ( to avoid the rain and dust) were a blast! Cannot wait for the weather to clear so I can find a reason to go somewhere!

So far I'm extremely pleased with the car, the build quality is really good imho, almost makes me want to keep it stock. But, I got over it and has already started putting on small mods I've purchased a while back, and planning on bigger mods later.

I ordered 11/16 and never got a dora. the dealership just got back to me today and said it never went through because "they were not allocated". No explanation on what that meant.

I'm assuming it meant "We screwed up" but not sure what they mean that orders weren't "allocated" especially when I've seen other here have their orders go through.

Shoot for making a deal with another dealer. That's unacceptable.

not allocated means they did not have an opening to order one for themselves. They are only allowed to order so many, based on prior year sales, if they are a small dealer, they may have already ordered their allotment of them, a bigger dealer will get a lot more ordering slots. I got mine from a dealer that sells a lot of mustangs, but now we are looking to get a fusion energi electric car, but my dealer does not sell a lot of them out here in AZ, so they dont have an allotment to order us one. we are looking to do a dealer trade in Calif for one now since they have a lot of them out there. hope this makes sense.

That's BS. When i called Ford customer service they said my order was accepted on November 17th, 13 days after I ordered.

Maybe it all depends on the size of the dealer and volume of Mustangs sold? Either way I'd definitely order elsewhere.
Try ordering from a bigger dealership. Since they have more allocations. And also they might have already used all their allocations up for their own cars.

Your order can be accepted but if your dealer doesn't have allocation it won't get scheduled for production.

Allocation determines who gets the units for that build week. The way allocation is split is based on Sales and availability. They don't count equally; I think sales factor 60% and availability 40%. The region like to call it turn and earn. The more you sell and fewer you have, the more you get. So if you've got lots of units on the ground and haven't been selling them, you won't get many new allocations. If you have none because you sold them all you should get a good number allocated. This information doesn't help a customer much as you really can't tell what dealers will get allocation. Larger dealers will get more allocation, but will have more orders also so doesn't mean faster scheduling. Generally most dealers are in similar situations and wait times will be similar. There are exceptions to this, for example 1999 Super Duty's were hard to get, but we had plenty of them as in a rural community we've always sold lots of HD trucks and the sales history helped us and hurt the city dealers that were selling them because they were "hot", this will hurt us the other way when the 05 Mustang comes out as I don't sell many normally I'll have a harder time getting them. Now this system ends up with leftovers as it doesn't end up with every dealer earning exact allocation and its hard to schedule .44 of a truck, so the left overs are used to get allocation to dealers that have retail orders and didn't earn (or earn enough) allocation to schedule them.

My dealer sells hella cars so I'm not worried about them having an allocation. When I called Ford again to bug she said it's in order processing and will be scheduled the first available week which she said is a good status to be at.

I take that as my car will be built? You tell me since this is my first ordered car, it is all very confusing to me.
In your sig it says you re-ordered on 11/4 and your status is still Order Processing? That seems like a long time...

I ordered mine on 12/5 (bay area dealer) and I just moved into Awaiting Shipment

Thanks for the link. I know I'm retail priority code 10 but I see commodities can eff everything up lol.
Sorry, I meant to reply to lostlocalhost regarding how allocation may have tied up his order even though if it got placed.

Yes, I'm guessing that "first available week means as soon as PP2 comes available for production.
