A little update in case anyone was curious about the center extractor being on a daily driver.
The car does actually run cooler, inlet temp and cylinder head temps have dropped
The engine noise is louder, which is a blast with my blow off valve and the Vortech whine. Scares people on the freeway when I let off the gas.. lol
The car steering is more stable and the car feels "heavier" on the front at speeds above 100. I was having an issue of front lift and light steering feel before
My biggest worry was the rain and not having a drip pan. My fears were unfounded. It has been raining in Southern California for 3 days straight and there has been no issues. I park the car outside, so it was hit with rain constantly,
Im looking at a heat extractor hood as well perhaps like the GT500 one Cervinis just came out and has a removable rain tray, I doubt I will need to go without it, since I lack a supercharger.

Ya, 2 bolts and 3M. I reused the plastic backing plates even though the directions don't include them. Looking at the design, it seems like a bad idea to omit them. I like the continuation of the 3 bar theme from the headlights and taillights that the Air Designs vents have.

Yea all the videos I’ve watched of the different products/manufacturers- they all state and show using the factory plastic backing. Take off and re-install into the new/replacement. The more I see pictures of the Air Designs it’s dealing the deal for me.

I re-used the same plastic backing as well.

All great information everyone, thank you! I noticed you guys said the Air Design hood vents sit higher vs OEM. Does anyone have any pictures from the driver seat to show this example?

I can get you one. They are definitely noticeable from the drivers seat. Since they go quit a bit further up the hood you will see the top of the vent depending on your seating position.

Thanks! This is actually a flooded area in a park, I am on the other side of this "puddle". If you look carefully, you can see the sidewalk under the surface of the water. I have been waiting for the perfect mix of flooding and sun in this area to get that shot.

They aren't really much thicker, but because they ride further rearward on the hood and out of the recesses, they are visible from the driver's seat. It doesn't take long to forget they are there, but you can see them.

Tried to get a pic from the driver seat but camera wouldn't act right. They are visible and stick up maybe half an inch? I took a side pix to show height

Oh yeah, I can see it now that you pointed it out, wow, I guess from all this rain, huh? Or maybe that's an older photo, we got pretty creamed over the last couple of weeks, one day there must have been a foot of water in one corner of the yard.

Yeah, the color / lighting from the sun is just incredible. :sun:

I cut my hood, took the stock vent apart and cut out everything to match the vent. I only did the side over the “cold air” intake. May... may not help with anything. But didn’t take me that long and cost me anything.

Would you mind posting the link; or sending me a message with where you purchased the Air Designs scoops from? Please!?

I know it is prolly in here somewhere. But for the life of me I can’t find it.
