I was driving today in my stock 2018 GT. It has side pipes and a Roush CAI, other than that no mods. I was driving on the beltway and it started running rough and the AC kept cutting in and out with a flashing check engine light. I switch over to gauge mode and looking at A/F ratio was pegged at 20 most of the time. It would occasionally drop into the high 13 range for a few seconds smooth out and the AC would run again, but then would lean out and run rough with AC out again. I pulled codes cleared them and they came right back. Car acted like it was starving for fuel like the pump died. Here are pics of the codes:

If the misfire is an actual cylinder - it will be a P0301-P0308 (as seen on your handheld device), not just a "P0300" (random misfire). The "random" misfires are more difficult to diagnose, only because there's a variety of reasons why it will happen.

My initial thought is since you received not only the P0300, but all specific P0301-P0308 cylinder misfires as well AND the P0019, that itā€™s quite possible you could have a faulty crank sensor OR one with loose wire contacts in the actual connector, which will also cause sporadic "random misfire" events.

Other M6G members have found that even just a stand alone P0300 was related to a faulty crank sensor. This could be your issue too, so review each thread carefully because each owner came across it in a different manner.

Check this thread:

AND this one:

ā€”ā€”

I would pull the crank sensor first and see what condition it, the connector and harness are in.

This thread may give you some enlightenment to Ford's misfire strategies:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/good-tech-article-on-fordā€™s-misfire-strategy.108076/

Also here is a pdf snip from the Ford Shop manual. which is "Coyote" specific. I'm including it because it gives a bigger picture of how to diagnose misfire events from the generic to the actual cylinder event codes:.

ā€”ā€”ā€”

The P0025 relates to Exhaust (B) Camshaft Position Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 2). This could be something as simple as a failed cam sensor, or to more complicated events such as timing system (VCT, chains, etc).

To have all of those DTC failures in succession, hopefully your OPG didnā€™t shatterā€¦

ā€”ā€”

The P05A1 error code is ā€œActive Grille Air Shutter A Position Sensor Minimum/ Maximum Stop Performanceā€. This is the least of your worries right now.

Thank you for doing all that digging to provide all those links and the explanations. I certainly will dig into all of this information.

We found some stuff with a boroscope. I also took some video driving showing the A/F ratio jumping around. Pardon my language at the end. Was following a guy doing 48 miles an hour on the highway and I was afraid to push the engine to get around him.

I donā€™t see anything wrong with the bore scope. You are always going to see little scratches they are so small that you probably canā€™t see them with the naked eye

I think that shiny metal wire looking piece could be an issue.

Turned out to be an exhaust cam solenoid. Replaced under warranty. Running well now.
