I installed 2018 premium door panels on my 2015 base.

However the wire connector does not fit the 2018 socket , and now the lock/unlock buttons cant work.

Is there anything I can do to retro fit so I can at least get the lock buttons cant to work?

i dont have power seats.

Notice on the last photo, the socket is wider and different on the 2018 button socket

A Factory Service Manual will have the connector listed and wiring diagrams. You'll need a new connector, I'd probably switch the one attached to the new panel. You'll also need wiring diagrams for both your car and whatever the new panel came from. Then install the new connector on the panel harness matching the "new" wiring to the existing pin configuration.
Or trial & error since you have the old panel to compare. Either way you'll need a new connector and pin it to match your car.

Thanks, makes sense. Going through the manual and trying on my own, I think that would be my last resort.

I hope a forum member may have experienced something similar so I can avoid the trial and error part.

I wonder if a dealership can fix this.

This is something you can do yourself quite easily but I can't see a way around rewiring unless someone makes an adapter. Unfortunately I know of no such adapter

True, the hard part for me is to find and understand what exactly needs to be done.

I will have a look at the 2015 and 2018 manual and see if I can make sense.

I was hoping someone can share a working way like splice into the red wire here and connect it to the wire there…

I'm betting only the connector changed and not the order of the wires

Also, can you not simply remove the entire switch assembly from the 2015 panel and install it into the 2018 panel?

Ford has a bad habit of changing wire colors and order, especially with the update in 2018. It's not something you should rely on.

I like your second thought. If the entire switch panels would swap it would make it super simple!

That is the first thing that crossed my mind my mind, cause that is what I did for the window/mirror control assembly, as I had the same problem.

The problem is, the 2018 door panels that I have has lock/unlock + 1,2,3 buttons, I think that is for seat memory if I am not mistaken. The 2015 has only lock/unlock and therefore that assembly has a different shape

I just found out that it looks like the door handle with the buttons is a separate assembly itself and can be swapped with the 2015.

I threw my old panels away, oops. Ordered another from ebay and will try to swap
