You have the right idea. Use the baseline I provide in the spreadsheet and write all. Then go back and adjust what you need for your car thats different. You CAN just figure out what you need and do it line by line but I recommend doing the baseline first incase you screw something up. Makes it easier to find your mistakes if you make one.

Great question. I know my PP gauges color does work with both my old cluster and this cluster. When I put in the GT350 gauges yesterday they do not change color.

You just change the ambient light and it changes the gauge color like the old cluster did.
Hey Sam, great write up, Thank you, and waiting on my Cluster parts. While waiting, i ordered the GT350 center gauges to replace my PP set, they arrive today. I have a Base '17 GT w/PP, no ambiant or mycolor lighting. Is there a way to get the center gauges to change color through Forscan programming or another way? That would be cool, know the new cluster is color configurable.

The GT350 gauges do not change color even if you have a premium. I have them too. it is unfortunate. Your PP gauges will change color with the new cluster if you leave them in. The GT350 won't.

Awesome work! I now want to go digital. I have a 2017 GT non PP Roush Warrior Scout, I purchased while overseas in Germany. Built for Military Auto Source. I put in the 10.4" Tesla style head unit, so it pulled all of the Synch out. Does anyone know if the digital cluster will still work? I'm not concerned about the Nav or the music in the display.

You’ll have no issues getting the dash to work with your exceptions. I’m pretty sure the nav won’t work but the music may.

So I read through almost all the 22 pages here and feel really confident with going digital now. I do have some questions that may or may not have been answer (at least I didn't see the answer I was looking for yet).

I have a 17 Mustang GT base with a SYNC 3 swap. I did some FORScan programming to get rid of some annoyances like the double honk thing. I also fix the toggle switch for the hard lights and enabled driving modes. The driving modes required programming in the the ABS first and then changing the code in IPC. Will I have issues with upgrading the digital cluster and 2018 IPC As-Built Data with my current 2017 IPC changes?

I know Sherrodmustang did the digital cluster swap and was successful, but there was no mention of what his current drive mode status was (unless I missed the post somewhere) or if he enabled it before?
Sorry, just seen this.

My drive modes work correctly, no issues.

Yes if you check the FAQ's I went over this. It will work fine with ANY radio setup you just won't have nav or song name.

Yes. Please read major step 3 of the guide on page 1. It explains the programming.

I'm kind of assuming the answer here. When you swap the buttons does it still transmit the same canbus signal for functions that are the same on the previous buttons? So like with an aftermarket radio that decodes the wheel buttons. Will the new switches break that? I'm leaning to no.

If you swap the buttons without changing/programming sccm, the buttons work the original way. Music control will still be on the right side etc.

Not all of the new buttons work though if you don't swap/reprogram the SCCM.

The way the buttons work is a voltage divider that the SCCM then interprets. How it interprets them depends on the programming in the SCCM. Some of the dividers are different for the new buttons so the old SCCM has no idea what to do with them.

2198276 - this is the one you would need to give to a UK parts department

So in the scenario where a canbus "decoder" is used to issue commands to an aftermarket head unit on the pre-retrofitted sccm. After programming to map the "new buttons" to the correct old button function in the new sccm the head unit should receive the exact same command from the sccm? Making the transition transparent to the head unit? This would seem so if the factory stereo contues to function after the new sccm button combo is programmed.

Not all of the new buttons work though if you don't swap/reprogram the SCCM.
