Hello all,
Havent been on in a long time. Just noticed the following noise. Give it a second to where i move the phone to the ground.
Same RPM range as previously in video. Very odd, i do not recall ever hearing this.
Car does not have any real big changes to it, Just a JLT intake and Corsa Sport Cat back exhaust. The other mods are more suspension oriented.

Thoughts from the community? I don't think this is the Typewriter tick as that seems to be present when car is just idling if I have read everything on it correctly. I don't really hear anything at idle, maybe a tick every 10-15 seconds but nothing like this.

Anyway, thanks for the listen and thoughts in advance.

Check out noise here ---> Odd Ticking Noise

Hard to tell from the video but maybe exhaust rattle? That doesn't sound like the BBQ tic to me. Try recording with the hood open. The tic is at idle. Yours seems to act up when you revved it. 🤷

I opened the hood, just normal noise. maybe a tick every 10 to 15 seconds.
I went back out after the original video and i can put my foot on gas and ever so slightly increase RPM by about 100 (which given my creaky bones isn't easy) and the noise can be heard.

Was the oil just changed? Sounds like the BBQ tic
It was. I've had this car since 2020. We live in a fairly rural town in Western North Carolina mountains now. I pulled car out of garage right before this video and had door open while idling in driveway and heard it.

I have a tendency to now think it is the BBQ tick after listening to the video on CJ Pony Parts site. They have a good video of it happening.

Give it 500 miles and see if it reduces or goes away.

Would love to know what's causing it but mine does the same for the first 500 or so miles after an oil change if I don't put ceratec in. Even using costly HPL oil. Penn ultra plat is supposed to be one oil that for what ever reason, the tick doesn't show up on.

Yeah, I am going to drive it for a few hundred miles and see if it settles in. I do have some ceratek here, however I have not added it. Im going to let it settle in a bit and see what happens. Before I go adding in anything to the oil.

Will update in a couple of hundred miles see if it has settled down a bit. It is a bit difficult to miles on car in this area without specifically going for a few hour drive. Not have a commute doesn't help matters either.
