On3 top mount twin kit had a f150 alternator on to until my boss 302 came in did some pulls and "The Service Charging System now light" came on. When switch to the boss 302 I noticed I melt the rear power plastic so I replaced it still hav P0625 code. NEW battery, and alternator

Has anyone dealt with a charging system service now light the car starts and drives fine just getting to many volts

If thats 15.1 volts on start up then staying around 14.6

Automotive batteries SHOULD put out about 12.6 volts when fully charged and should charge at anywhere from 13.7 - 14.7 volts. You cannot charge a 12.6-volt battery with 12.6 volts ... it has a to be a small bit more but, any higher than that (say 16 volts) will likely boil your battery fluid (screws up engine compartment!) or blow up a sealed battery ... or at LEAST cause a crack / leak. I had a Mazda MX 6 GT boil a battery when the regulator failed. The engine compartment did NOT ever look the same.
