I ordered from Brown Bros. It is a GT350. I tried to get an R every where but no dice.
Next time you are at Brown Bros. say "Hello" to Tim Brown for me. Tim used to race regularly but may have slowed down and concentrates of the business end of his dealership now.

Way back in 1987 I purchased a 5.0 Notchback Mustang from his dealership and raced it for a year or so and also raced a 1986 Dodge Omni Shelby GLH at the same time. That little Shelby GLH beat a lot of the Pony cars at the time and was a hoot to drive and had a fair bit of torque steer.

Also, back in 1965 Tim's father bought one of the original 37 "R" models and Brown Bros. Ford sponsored that car at the SCAA BP races around the Pacific Northwest.

A cool car for sure and I believe that 1965 "R" model went to auction in Scottsdale at RM Auctions within the last two years.

I picked up my 2016 GT350 from Brown Bros Ford on April 23, 2016. I love this very special car! They treated me very well and I'm no relation to Brown Bros, though we share the same last name. The first car show of the year for me is this Sunday. I think a Blue R will be there. Event details here http://gvma.org/spring-show.html

First of all congratulations on owning a fantastic looking GT350! I really like your color combination and I am very happy that Brown Bros. Ford took good care of you as they are good people.

Just a quick story about Brown Bros. Ford and Tim Brown the present owner of this dealership and myself.

Way back some 30 years ago and pretty much this same month I came across a 1965 Mustang 2+2 Fastback "K" code that was converted to a 1965 Shelby GT350R model replica and was supposedly previously owned by Paul Newman and his racing team and came out of San Jose, California. This was the same time that I had my 1987 GT Mustang and my 1986 Dodge Omni Shelby GLH.

I just to have had this car and invited Tim Brown to help me with the inspection of this 1965 Shelby GT350R replica and after a short period of time we both agreed that this was a real "K" code engine in a 2+2 Mustang and thought that this was a cool car.

Immediately I asked to test drive the car after which time the owner agreed and I took the wheel of this cool car. Because of my enthusiasm and excitement I forgot to reattach the hood pins on the front of the fiberglass hood of this car and you can just imagine the result shortly thereafter.

Long story short in spite of my tearing up the fiberglass hood on the test drive I purchased the car and shortly thereafter I told Tim Brown that I could pull +60 MPH in first gear and he so said no way so the wager was on.

Tim and I met at Brown Bros. Ford a week later after which time we made a bet that I could or could not pull +60 MPH in first gear. I picked up Tim and headed to a street just on the South side of Brown Bros. Ford that was parallel to their dealership on Marine Drive and proceeded to take my car up to ~6800 RPM in first gear and pulled ~62 MPH in first gear but unfortunately a Vancouver City Policeman was sitting at a railway crossing just as I had the car crossing the tracks at the maximum speed with all 4 wheels of off the ground.

Long story short the police officer really liked my car and I not only got off with a warning but I won my bet with Tim. This car had 3.00 rear end gears and had a red line of almost 7000 RPM which was pretty cool way back in 1986 for a small block Ford V8.

Tim is a great guy and an accomplished race car driver and runs an outstanding Ford dealership.

If you come across Tim I am sure he will remember this incredible experience right behind his Ford dealership in Vancouver pretty much 30 years ago this month.

Time certainly fly's by quickly when a person owns these great "Blue Oval" vehicles!

My understanding, as it was told to me, on the same day I picked up my car, Tim Brown picked up his new GT350R in White in the morning along with his friend who picked up a GT350 in White at the same time. It was said to me you could here Tim screaming down the back road in it.

Sounds like something that Tim would do as he certainly enjoys driving/racing the Blue Oval cars and has the scars to prove it.

I can still remember way back when Tim was racing a 2000 Cobra R in California, Oregon and Washington and assume he still has that car?

With the amount of leverage that Tim has with Ford I wonder how early of an R model he got and if he went with a base R or one with the Electronics Package?

Knowing him it would be a base model and if you see his car at the dealership the next time you are there maybe check out his chassis number and options on his car?

Outstanding information if your dealership has correct information and hopefully so?

It was our understanding that the first 2017MY GT350's were to be built/assembled in FR on Thursday, June 2nd but hopefully your car may be number 1 or 2 assembled for the 2017MY???

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yea PP, I'm having a hard time believing it too. Let's see if I can get confirmation in the next day or two. I've been working with the owner of the dealership. He's a LONG time dealer and Mustang guy. He knows his chit when it comes to ordering them. It was originally scheduled for June 6.

I'll keep everyone posted as to what I find out...

The dealer had one R allocation and three regular. The R has a in and is scheduled. I am the first of three regular GT350s but don't know what quarter.

So far in my experience, only once,,,,,, lol , but if it follows the same trend mine did. Mine was scheduled for a May 17th build. It ( COTUS) displayed on May 10th " In Production " 7 days early. Hence your May 31/actual June 6th build. Basically I was told cars are scheduled a week ahead for a spot on the line. Obviously now your window sticker should be available, look at the blend date. It will probably read 20160606, or something very close. That's the actual date it is set to get built. You're close though!!
Mine went into scheduled production May 10th just got released for shipping this morning June 1st!
Congrats hope you get it soon though
