Picked up the car from the dealer yesterday afternoon. Only stalled out twice on the way home in Houston afternoon rush hour traffic. First impressions: 1) the shift from 1st to 2nd is the most problematic, as others have noted. Will just take some getting used to, and overall, the transmission is much smoother than I have been led to believe by other owners' posts. (I haven't regularly driven a manual transmission car in over 35 years, yet the Mustang GT shifted really easily from the first moment for me.) 2) The driver's seat belt requires a good right lat stretch to reach around and grab it when getting ready to buckle up for safety. 3) The 400A Radio speakers do NOT sound good. Tinny, and "small" sounding. I need to do an "inventory" and confirm that there are truly 9 connected speakers in the car, and that audible sounds come out of each of them. Very surprised by the sound, as the Sony systems in our 2014 Focus Titanium and 2013 Fusion Titanium sound really brilliant. 4) The Saddle leather interior package looks fantastic. 5) The SYNC 3 system is a big upgrade from the previous generation SYNC, and I really liked the old system just fine. One of the reasons I waited for the 2016 was SYNC 3, and the wait was worth it. 6) I deleted the spoiler, and the more closely you look at the trunk/rear deck's naturally upturned shape, the more you may notice that a spoiler would be a redundant, and maybe even ridiculous, affectation. 6) The Coyote engine sounds great, but to steal from the movie Spinal Tap, the sound doesn't go to Eleven. I wanted it to go to eleven. 7) The stock seats fit very nicely and switching on the cooling option yesterday afternoon made me so glad that I didn't go Recaro. 8) Fit and finish of the sheet metal was much nicer than I expected. And as a bonus, I couldn't detect one rattle. 9) Was pleasantly surprised that my car had 2.6 miles on the Odometer when I picked it up. 10) The suspension feels taut but not at all jarring on Houston minefields that pass as streets. 11) Back to the transmission - this car has the 3.55 rear axle, and first gear is very short in it. I cannot imagine how that would work in the performance pack with the 3.73 ratio. In that configuration, maybe folks start out in 2nd gear during routing stop and go driving. Dunno.
All in all, I am very pleased with the Mustang. And Guard green definitely is a cool, stealth color.
