Know exactly what you are feeling like Sixth, ordered mine 1/29 and still no VIN. I spoke to the dealer earlier this week and they had two allocations with my order being one of the two so I'm not sure why the delay unless they put 19 for the priority. :(

Wasn't there a few posts talking about convertibles (specifically Canadian) being built in batches at certain times in the month? Maybe yours missed the February batch?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading a lot about convertibles getting delays while coupes just fly down the line.

MrMike, I suspected that was the case as well but there is some dialogue back on page 98 that appears to indicate otherwise. Both fastbacks and convertibles can be on the line at the same time and they can build both the Canadian or American versions as they are simply installing a different component on the pony as it trots by the various assembly stations.

Yep, all 2016 orders were due by Friday, Mar. 4, 2016. Say goodbye to Deep Impact Blue, Competition Orange, and Guard ;) Welcome Grabber Blue, Lightning Blue, and some other shade of white (not Oxford White) for 2017 Other than color choices, not too many other changes for 2017...

IIRC, ordering for 2017 starts April 4, 2016...all in the thread the guy before me posted.

Definitely don't want to discount previously posted information, but I believe allocations are still available and dependent on your dealer or region. I was notified last Thursday that my dealer had 9 more allocations. With that information, I placed my order yesterday. I received confirmation that it has been added to the order bank. I'm assuming this means that it will be built by the factory. Looking forward to taking delivery this summer post-deployment and starting a build thread!

So, basically, your dealer took a suggestion and ordered a car to your specs...be interesting to see if your window sticker says "Custom order" on it ;)

I was wondering the same thing, but my specific dealer called the regional manager to clarify and was told the beginning of April. I want to say very close to 2017 order banks opening. My plan, since I'm deployed, was to order the beginning of April for delivery closer to my return date. When the dealership told me that they only had 9 allocations left, I made the decision to place the order with my options that I wanted. I received my order number yesterday. Hopefully, when I get a build date/VIN, I'll be able to see my window sticker. I'll definitely post if it says custom order. I'm pretty sure what happened, is the dealer used there allocation but ordered it exactly the way I wanted it.

I started questioning the dealer last week because, to date, no VIN has even been assigned to the order. They informed me that I had one of two allocations. Yesterday I asked to for a copy of the DORA so that I could see what “PRIORITY” number was assigned. When I received the copy, I noticed that there was no “PRIORITY” field on the DORA. Contacted them again and they admitted that they were just given two allocations last week just before I called. If the order bank was closed the 1st week of March, will they still process my order? Inquiring minds want to know. :shrug:

My dealer probably has no allocations either which is why mine hasn't been built either...will probably pick up one area within a couple weeks.

Ordered on Feb 27th. GT Premium,MT, Race Red, 20" Wheels, Premium Ebony Leather, Nav. I have not received a VIN or DORA from Dealer. =-(

Unless they can tell you point blank that they have unused dealer allocations, I wouldn't trust them ;) At this point, that is the only way that you can get a 2016 order in...

ElAviator72: If you haven't yet, you many want to pester your Dealer for the railcar number. Mine was also built on 3/01/16, was loaded on 03/08/16, is traveling West via UPRR and is currently in Tuscon AZ!!
