It is all-new hardware in the headunit, so it is not software upgradable. It has a different processor.
So far Sync 3 looks nice. I wish they made it easier to upgrade the hardware.

I like what I see of the sync 3 so far but I wish it had a little more color in the display. It just looks so washed out.

Was at my dealer February 5th and their Fleet Bulletin wall chart showed ...

Last day to order a 2015 was mid-June (think it was 06/12) and production ends sometime mid July.

I'm sure these dates are subject to change, but this is the 1st I've seen any official Ford document stating "when".

Did not state when production of 2016 MY started, but I'd guess a week or so after 2015 production ends.
Doug
so when will we see the website change for build & price for the 2016MY ?? April? May??
More like August/Sept is my guess.
So, who's going to be right? :)

We have a great salesman on this forum (Five Oh Brian) so hopefully he'll keep us updated as to dates for ordering the 15/16 :)

sync 3 looks great, and if its anywhere as simple and reliable as Uconnect then its another win. That plus the possibility of a GT/PP auto and some potential new colors has me definitely waiting.

I love the new '15, its a great looking car, but none of the current color/option combos really speak to me yet. hopefully its worth waiting.

You're not going to see any *real* changes. Sync3, wheels, colors, packing changes, maybe GTPP on automatics, but that's all. For the 17-18 they'll probably go DI on the 5.0 and tweak the turbo 4 for some power gains. Unless the V6 sells amazingly well it will go away by 17 as well. The 2.7 (or 3.5) won't go in this gen Mustang, it's too close to the 5.0 in power.
My understanding is that the heads would have to be redesigned for DI to become a reality. If they didn't do that for the GT350 I don't see that happening for the GT. I figure it will be a year or two before the improved intake from the GT350 trickles down and I expect that.

I didn't buy my 2015 expecting it to be the most powerful S550. I bought it knowing it is the 50th year for the Mustang. It will take a lot to get me to take the plunge on a newer model. I bought this car to hold onto and drive until it or I die.

For those who haven't ordered (or bought off a lot) yet that may be enough to wait for a '16.

No matter what you do the next one will probably be "better" in some way. I ordered a 15 and I'm sure the 16 will have something that I would of liked to have. If I cancel and wait for a 16, the 17 will have something else! It's just the way it is.
My prediction on DI is just that... somewhere along the S550 run the 5.0 will be massaged for a few HP, I don't know how they'll do it, but I'm sure it will be done.

my wish is a premium option package for the 6-cylinder, and hood struts; no more bar!

Knowing the creative people here and those tied to aftermarket, I'm sure someone will figure out how to "upgrade" this device from the Sync2. I'll wait till Ford fixes all the bugs that'll come with Sync3 v1 :)

Like most others have said, you're not going to see any major changes until MY17 or 18.

Still, my wishlist for future models includes;
- new gunmetal/dark gray wheel option (with simplier design) for GT PP.
- auto-up via the fob for the windows.
- heated steering wheel on the 401A/201A instead of seat memory.

i want CO to drop on the color options....so ford can keep the tradition of only offering that color as a one year only (2004, 2012 boss, 2015)
