It's really crazy to me that we have zero official details on options and pricing aside from the awesome info Five Oh Brian has been providing. This wait before the actual wait is horrible.
My guess is it will be sometime next week when we start getting information since the order banks are supposedly opening the following week.

I was going to wait for the 2016 just for the sync 3, but figured since my car will spend more time on the track and in the garage, it didnt really matter and on a 24 month lease, I'll be ready for a 2017 with any new features, or get a 2016 for a good deal, either way, I'm in control. :-)

I like the Cyclone V6. It's an underrated and under-appreciated engine. But it's headed for the scrap bin of automotive history, along with the other Duratecs. Blame the rapid tech turnover in the automobile business and federal gov't-mandated fuel economy and clean air laws...

...As soon as the 2.3 EB engine's development and production startup costs are paid for (break-even point), it can afford to make it the base engine in the Mustang and will do so (likely for the 2007 model year). So get your Cyclones while you can.

I had the 3.7 in my '13 F150. It was a good little engine. When I went to buy a Mustang, I knew I would not be able to afford a new 5.0L Mustang. So it was used previous-gen GT or new Ecoboost or V6. I test drove the V6, and I don't care what "official" numbers say, the Ecoboost 2.3 is faster and a better daily driver than the 3.7. It's a torque thing, really.

The 3.7's power is all up top, same as it was in my F150. I remember bumping that 7000 RPM redline, and the motor was screaming. It was fun to drive. But under 3000 RPM, it was very weak. Again, nothing against it (and it's top line power was great for a 3.7L six), but the 2.3's torque at low RPM really makes the motor stand out. On top of that, the efficiency is better with the 2.3. Horsepower may be very close, but in all other ways, the 2.3L is a clear winner. Well worth the $1000 or so to upgrade to it. And with very MINOR mods, you get even more boatloads of torque out of the Ecoboost. On the track, the 5.0L will walk all over it, but stoplight-to-stoplight, it's a contender.

I don't see why anyone would hate on the 2.3L or want it to disappear from the lineup. But, I highly suspect you're right and the 3.7 will quietly disappear from the lineup in a couple years. Of course, its close cousin, the 3.5L Turbo, would be a welcome addition.. if Ford were so inclined.

Taking a leased vehicle on the track? Seems a bit risky lol

My wait for 2016 just got confirmed. Having left ankle surgery in July. Minimum 3 month recovery = no clutch action for me and I don't recognize Mustangs with auto transmissions. All the more reason to save up for a GT 350;)

Will The 2016's exterior look just like the 2015's right not having any slight design changes? Also would the Sync 3 be only available with the premium package and would the premium package not be available on the 2016 V6 model? I guess the Sync 3 would have a monthly fee with it? Unless the Sync 3 would have the radio and air conditioning controls built into it? Also would they make the different driving modes and Bliss system as standard equipment on the V6 or would those still be with the premium package?

Sync 3= Only for Premium

California Special: Also only for Premium

2016 Exterior: Unchanged except for maybe stripe packages or rims

No premium for the V6

Keep something in mind that Ford wants people to buy the premiums. They have "base" cars as a means of keeping the price of entry into specific power trains at a reasonable level (33,000 for the GT's, 26,000 for the EB's). They have very little interest in adding features to the base as it would progressively remove reason to buy the premiums.

Thanks for the info. I wish they would make the Bliss system as standard equipment on the base model. I think they should have all driver assist aides as standard equipment on all car models.

Or people should learn to drive and use their mirrors like we used to do before tech in cars.

Been driving 17 years and never had a blind spot/reversing accident where Bliss would've helped. Hit a deer on the highway from the front when I was about 20-21 and slide into the back of another car on back ice when I was about 16-17 up north

I do like that small inside mirror built into the main side mirror. I never had one of those before. I think having the driver assist features help could prevent crashes. This guy really needs them. LOL.

BliS isn't necessary with properly adjusted mirrors but cross-traffic alert (which obviously uses the same radars as BliS) would be very useful. It just adds an extra layer of security when backing out of a narrow spot, especially if you're surrounded by ridiculously large pickups and SUVs on either side. You can backup as slow and carefully as you want but sometimes there's someone that comes flying from either the left or right that I would like to know is coming.

And for those that say just park tail-in to avoid that - well the place I work requires nose-in parking in all spaces and if you don't do that they will ticket you, and if you get too many of those tickets they will boot your car.

Same with living in the city... sometime the ONLY parking spot you can get is head-on angled parking.

Besides, parking rear-first still doesn't help much in these cars, especially if you have a van or suv on both sides of you, since our hoods are so long.
