If you can wait, wait. But it would probably be until July or August when you can get delivery of a 2016. If you can't wait, just get the 2015.
More like October I thought.

Well, considering 8/3/15 is Job #1 date, July is impossible. August may be possible. More likely late September/early October to take delivery of a 2016.

just FYI, 2017 model year is when new emissions regulations come in. So expect powertrain changes then.

You can see them IF you have your seat up high enough...but yes the center hood sticks up too far on the current model. I hope someone comes out with a aftermarket hood that incorporates either the GT350 look or keeps the current hood/vents but lowers the mid vent rise.

Seat up high, and then I can't see the speedo and the real turn signals. They really need to put the Turn Signal, Speed, and High Beam Indicators on a shelf on the dash, or HUD. Along with a Warning light if something is overtemp or low gas. That's where we look most of the time, anyways.

This is probably newbie question, but I'm gonna ask any way. The HUD that you guys are talking about is the electronic monitor that shows your MPH/KPH, right?

It's a Heads Up Display and can contain whatever relevant information you want. However, most car manufactures that currently implement this usually limit it to MPH, a small Nav screen, and maybe fuel. The technological implementations are virtually endless but unfortunately, it is more restricted by software in present form.

Anyone else notice the image on the 2016 paint colors thread that looked like the headlights had a body colored surround? Instead of the black plastic surround of the current model.

Oh my gosh, I just found out from my neighbor that the new 2.7L V6 Ecoboost is going into the Mustang for 2016! That thing is a powerhouse in the new F150 so it should be a real tire burner in the Mustang.

April Fools! :tsk:

More like Mid November.
No way the delays in the 2015 were due to it being a first run model year. 16s will start hitting the shelves in mid-September possibly sooner if there aren't any holds on them

Do we know if Redline will be available with Guard for 2016?
That combination will still clash, as it would have in 2015, and no I don't think Ford will build it. Go Magnetic/Redline. Gorgeous.

They will only apply to vehicles >8500 lbs. so we will still get the crappy mileage.

We have to wait until 2025 to get 54.5 mpg in the mustang.
Yeah there is some tightening of standards for higher weight vehicles. 2017 is also when California LEV III emissions and Federal Tier III emissions really kick in.

https://www.dieselnet.com/standards/us/ld_ca.php

That means direct injection engines have to meet particulate mass standards, non methane organic gas and NOx emissions tighten, catalyst and other emission warranties will need to be longer.

So automakers have to make some hardware changes for that to happen, whether it's something unnoticeable like precious metal loading in a cat or redesigning heads, adding secondary air injection or switching to direct injection, or changing injector spray patterns.

How about the V-6? Will it be the base engine again? Will there be any additional options?

We assume it will be the base engine...as for options, many are hoping to see a premium trim or at least the performance package option.
