Had to have the top on my 2015 GT replaced due to a small seam tear and the new one from Ford just looks like crap. OE top put on by the dealer but it quickly developed hard wrinkles and stretchmarks above the front seats where the guide tethers are attached. The original top displayed none of this.
Anyone else's original top look like a dirty tee shirt wadded up at the bottom of the laundry basket?

taut top...

My original top has stayed nice and tight...looks as good as when I got it 14 months ago. I do use 303 fabric top cleaner and protectant. If the fabric does not totally bead up rinse water...I clean it and apply a double dose of protectant. The protectant seems to last about six months. I would never accept such a loose and shody replacement top.

Mine does not look like that. Have not tried the protectant, but should look into it.

I had my top replaced also and have noticed the stretchmarks above the front seats where the guide tethers are attached. I don't think they are from the install but from the factory.
I added some padding to the second or rear cross brace the one that is in the rear in the down position. I noticed the steel was not rounded enough and biting into the material in the down position. This was causing the top material to deform.

I've had tops replaced for wear on 2 previous 'verts I've owned. Neither of them looked like that. Work was done by a auto upholstery shop about 25 miles away. Work was first rate each time.

Wasn't cheap, but worth it in the long run!

Mine looks as good as it did a year ago. I actually have two bottles of some chemical guys products for cleaning and protecting, but haven't used it yet.

Only a few weeks of ownership and I noticed if the top is down for a while when I put it back up there are wrinkles but the seem to stretch out after a while.

Thanks for the tip about the 303 protection. I will go get some. My S197 had vainly and it did not look as nice but was care free.

Owning a vert means hating birds - top up or down:D

OP - I don't think it looks that bad, but I would be upset as well. Not sure the dealer will redo it but you can try. Good luck!

My experience is similar to WindveilNJ. When the top has been down for a while, it creates some wrinkles around the side rear windows. Not as bad as your picture, and they do go away fairly quickly.

I would complain if it looked like the picture.

I've had wrinkles but they do go away after a bit. I haven't noticed how long it takes it hasn't bothered me yet.

The first time I saw the wrinkles though I was bothered by it but it's OK now. I have a 2016 with 4400 miles.

I'm more concerned with my front bumper getting all rock chipped than this.

I also get wrinkles, but my top stays down for days at a time. Once it's been up for a reasonably long drive they're gone.

Have had my 15 convertible since may 19 of 2015 have had no problems. I always put the top back up after driving I think it helps keep the wrinkles out.

Thanks for all your responses.

Just FYI, the top is up all the time when the car is not being used as yet the creases and wrinkles fail to fall out.

The dealership and Ford Customer Service are now in conversation regarding this problem so hopefully it will be resolved soon.
