Actually the gearing in the 2015 mt82 trans changed, having 373,s is like having 355,s now.Na with the weight of this car,373 with the manual is a good idea if ur planning to go to the track.

That is not correct. The GT MT-82 gear ratios have remained the same since 2011. Only the V6 and now the Ecoboost have different ratios.

  1. 3.66
  2. 2.43
  3. 1.69
  4. 1.32
  5. 1.00
  6. 0.65

I don't care about mpg. Shifting a lot. Lower top speed. Will my car pull harder with 3.73s?

Up to 150mph yes it will pull a bit harder. At low speeds(0-30ish) it's a wash as you're fighting wheelspin.

Some yes. I would try and drive a car with 3.73's first and see if you really like them. Another thought is to go to a shorter tire giving you more gear. Less expensive and less chance of the gear swap causing you issues down the line.

Correct. And wheelspin will definitelt present itself especially on a street tire.

Ok explain why the 13 and 14 with 373 and same tire shift at a totally different rpm,and im not talking about when racing ,reqular driving.

Hey dude not sure where u live in ny but ur more than welcome to come and drive my car(with me in it)lol to feel the difference between 373 and 315 or 331gears.I drove both and believe me the 373,s pull harder as long as u can drive.Plenty of good tires not drag radials that can keep the 373,s planted.

This coming from the guy who stuck 4.56's behind his MT82 and thought THOSE were a good choice.:clap2::lol:
You know that you and I are gonna disagree on gearing on every single Mustang forum until the end of time, right?!?! I liked the 4.56's in my '11 GT MT82 out on the street. They didn't help my 1/4 mile ET's, though, and were noisy, but still a blast to drive on the street with them.

And, the 4.10's in my '14 GT 6R80 are absolutely perfect for MY goals and use of the car. I would never run a different gear in my '14.

Ultimately, there is no one single ratio that is "best," hence the reason Ford makes so many different ratios to cater to varying intended uses out there, so quit trying to tell everyone that 3.15's and 3.31's are the only gears that anyone should ever choose.

Based on what the OP stated at the onset of this thread about how he intends to use his car, I believe he'll really enjoy going with steeper gears such as the 3.73's.
