Does anyone know how long the 2015 will be produced? Any guesses as to when the 2016's might start?

I'm curious about this too. Is Ford going to change up the Mustang's production schedule going forward to a late summer start/early summer end cycle? It would make more sense for the model year designations as every co seems to be pushing up production timing.

I called my dealership to see about getting on a "pre-order" list so that I can start customizing my car as soon as this is available and was told March is the production start and they should have cars by April to most dealerships. Although it sounded like he was taking a shot in the dark.

My guess is Ford is shifting Mustang production to a different production schedule than we are used to in order to stagger it with its other global vehicles, particularly the Fusion as they will be sharing the plant. I would guess the 2016 starts building in July/August of 2015.

Based on the prevailing information coming from reveal events, indeed that sounds like a shot in the dark...a big one :)

Your dealership doesn't know what they're talking about.

I spoke with my dealership and they told me they were attending a sales meeting in January with Ford to go over options, pricing and delivery. He pretty much confirmed August for the first deliveries and since I want a convertible he speculated after Labor day for delivery but said nothing was definite until the January meeting.

Good to know about the meeting. Hopefully some more concrete details come out then.
