So my order went from a delivery of 11/30 all the way to 12/25. The dealer has been trying to contact the sales rep with no luck today. They said something about a rail car shortage that is causing a lot of cars not to be shipped. Does anybody know anything about this ?

Yea, I live in South Florida. Does that mean if I want extended warranty that I have to buy from the dealer who sold me my car?
Some of the Florida guys may want to chime in, but what I think I know is if you are in FL you have to buy the warranty from a FL dealer, and they all know that and price accordingly. Sorry.

You can purchase an extended warranty from a NON-Ford source if you like. Just read the details before you buy and by all means, investigate the insurer 1st too, or you may regret the decision to buy.

You can also get an extended service plan(ESP) within a certain time period, directly from Ford and I think you can do it right on the credit.ford.com site... but you can get there from ford.com(bottom of the page, several options). If you're buying the Ford plan directly, you don't need a dealership, but you should be able to get help doing at any.

But the question is, does the Ford ESP provide the best bang for the buck? Don't read that as 'cheapest' but is it worth the money in general. Or are there other options that provide coverage for more things with less hassle.

COTUS is showing that Ruby has been delivered to her temporary stall at the Ford dealership. I've sent an e-mail to my salesman to confirm and asking if I'll be able to pick her up tomorrow. It's been a bit of a wait, but I know not as bad as some have experienced. Hope everyone gets theirs as soon as possible.

Here's the time line for me - Ordered 8/19; Built 11/3; Awaiting Shipment 11/8; In Transit 11/10; Delivered 11/18.

Have you signed papers? That will make the car drop off COTUS. Send a PM to Rachel at FordService here on this site. She can find the car, she's a most outstanding help.
Where do I go to PM Rachel? I'm trying to find out my build date, and am searching the site for some way and don't see how. Where do I go? Anyone? Thanks!

Picked up Ruby today. GT Premium with PP and other goodies. My impression after less than 50 miles today - Holy Chit! Sophisticated muscle is how I would describe it. Those who are still waiting, try to be patient. You're goona be stoked when you get it.

Roll up to the top of any Forum screen, look for the hyperlinks right under the pretty red Mustang. Off to the right of center, pick on Quick Links. Most of the way down that menu, pick Private Messages. Address a PM to FordService and say "Hey, Rachel!"

Cotus signs

Had a EDD of 11/19, 11/30, then 11/24. Past couple of weeks.

Searched Cotus last night and the EDD disappeared the whole day. So i checked one last time around 6pm Est. and bam said transit 11/19 and delivered 11/19 lol.

Called dealer to follow up the same night, said he would have in any hour that night.

So hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow. After the One day my seller needed to Prep it up internally and externally.

So indeed Your order could arrive later or much sooner than cotus says. I believe it's a "if all else fails expect this date at least for it to show."

I don't know where my car is which i order on 05/20. My GT Premium Auto CO was built 10/28, completed A/S 10/28, went INTRANSIT 10/28 or 10/29, rcvd MI Railyard 10/31 and then disappeared. My dealer thinks it is at the
MI railyard for Q/C (why this wasn't done at Flat Rock--I don't know). Once
Upon A Time i had an EDD of 11/20 and a clock countdown of 0 days left, now
all COTUS shows is a picture of my car and my VIN (1FA6P8CF4F5322825). I
called FORDSERVICE today and all they had to say was that I would be getting
my car between 11/14 and 11/20 and it was INTRANSIT. I told the lady that
INTRANSIT suppose to mean it was on a train/hauler headed towards me (Las
Vegas NV) and that it was now 11/26 ---- she had no other info.

I feel for you. I also ordered around 5/25, dealer told me he was not ready to take my order until 6/1, paid my $1000 on 6/2, found the dealer did not even submit my order until mid-July, then tried to make me pay full retail on a car he received that looked like my car instead of the X-plan we agreed on. I told him I won't pay full-retail and he said I can wait another 6-weeks for 'my' car to arrive. I'm still waiting. At least COTUS shows I am still expecting delivery on 12/18. I really think the delay we see is when the dealer sold our priority out for the hope of making a few extra $ from somebody who did not pre-order. Did you put a deposit on your car? I hope the dealer did not sell your car to somebody else for MSRP or higher after making you wait 6 months!

Only 31 days left to get my car from my May order... (order date shows 7/11, but that is when the dealer submitted my order, not when I ordered it). On another topic, I think we get 3yr/36K mile warranty. How much do people typically pay for an extended bumper to bumper warranty? For example,

$1000 extra for 5yr/60K mile bumper-to-bumper? Do I have to buy the warranty through my dealer, or can I buy it through another dealer?

Thanks!
Unless you live in Florida, you can buy a Ford Extended Service Plan (ESP) from any Ford dealer in any state. Start at http://www.zeiglerfordesp.com/warranty_plans/?plan_id=2054 with your VIN to get pricing: you choose your own deductible, contract length and mileage (up to 125,000) and are given a locked-in quote instantly. NOTE: if you buy the ESP from your local dealer, he has to charge you sales tax - online dealers don't. Take your printout with you to the dealer when you pick up the car and show the finance guy, tell him you'll pay Zeiglar's price less whatever the sales tax is for your state. There will be back and forth - "I don't see how they can offer that price, it's less than it costs me," etc. Just keep guiding him back to the Zieglar price quote (less sales tax), and don't let him switch a thing. You can walk away, and he knows it.
And buying it from an online Ford dealer really is as easy as entering your VIN and your credit card info - all dealers are tied into the same computer system.
P.S. - My dealer and I ended up at $28 over my online price quote (yes, I intentionally let him have a *very* small victory) which I accepted to get everything done at once.

I do live in Florida. So for the above plan (looks like everything is covered), the 'standard' price for a 60,000 mile extend service plan on a 2015 Mustang GT is $975 + a one time non-reoccurring fee of $50?
