I think some of the "blame" can be laid at the feet of Ford with the new F150 coming out.
I put some of the "blame" on the redesign work that was done to accommodate the styling changes which resulted in the platform updates for the wider track. Potentially there are many factors that affected the overall timeline, but I think that would have added time.

As has been noted in previous posts, this cadence of dates is very similar to the 2005 introduction, and as such, would affect the apperance of the fastbacks v convertibles, North American market cars vs other markets, etc.

I also wish a April date would have been met, but it's water under the bridge now. I just hope the commodity flow and the other many things that have to come together to make a high quality vehicle do so!

They probably are getting a factory demo to show to customers. Most dealer's will host a Mustang Night or Premier Night this fall and there will be 2015 Mustangs to show during these events.
Much like the nonsense Posted that Convertible Orders (could) be entered on either CONCEPTS or the Dealership "WBDO" System but they result in "Material Hold" and Error Messages with (no Prices). A classic effort in futility, if there ever was one. My Salesman won`t play that game. He checks "Daily" for me of Ordering Status for Convertibles and won`t call me until he can legitimately place a (Real) Order into the Unscheduled Order Bank.

I just received an email from a local ford dealer in NJ that said in big bold print. 2015 Mustang Arrives August 11th. Its right at the top of their website page as well. Here is the link...the ad scrolls at the top....second picture. www.maloufford.net. Has anyone else seen this at another dealer. Arrival August 11th sounds way too early based on all the prior posts in this forum.
My local dealer says he will beat anybody's price in big bold letters, any local knows it isn't true. PT Barnum once said "there is a sucker born every minute" Try going there on the 11th and buying one to drive home that day, bet ya a steak dinner it won't happen.

Up until somewhat recently, the 2015 Mustang page at ford.com explicitly said: "Available Summer 2014" or something close to that.

Well, technically, Summer is till Sept 20th, right? Slim chance but possible, for the Fastback Coupe , that is.

Just so I'm clear, then: those of us who've put in our orders but haven't yet received build dates should expect our cars... sometime in late November or early December?

You still might be lucky enough to get a build date in the last half of September. If you do and your location to Flat Rock is close enough you might get delivery in late September.

It all depends on when Ford starts scheduling custom retail (pre-sold) orders.

You're pretty fuzzy, you could get a build date in Sept and have the car mid October. You could also have ordered something that ends up on a constraints list and get the car in February. Stay in touch with your dealerships inventory control manager. They way weather has been this year, a typhoon could hit Detroit off of Lake Michigan and flood the plant and none of us would get cars until 2016. (sounds absurd, just like some of the conspiracy theories in this thread)

And the point is? It doesn't change the fact that the Ford website stated what I said above. We all know that those dates are flexible to some degree, but the obvious plan was for the cars to be available in Summer, late Summer, but Summer all the same.

Ford's website always said FALL 2014 on the fastback pictures and LATE 2014 on Convertibles.
The plan was FALL, from day one. The very first dealer bulletein we got from Ford indicated FALL of 2014. Not once did Ford say SUMMER to us dealers or on their website.

Out of curiosity what's the difference between fall and late 2014? What months would you peg for both releases? Wouldn't that imply September release for the fast back and November-December for convertibles.

Also, when Ford says the 2015 will be released in Q3, what is Ford's Q3?
