Ford Service just told me my build week is 5/11 - got my VIN a week ago. From what I understand I may not get any more in COTUS until I have a firm blend date. I visited my dealership and they say I'm still good on my price -- should be about $1500 under x-plan, done as a cash deal.My order went in on 3/30 - I really hope they will issue an EDD before 5/15 -- when my private cash expires.
I haven't been in the mustang plant since they were built at the Rouge plant. That certainly wasn't they case then. V6 next to v8 next to mustang R.I ordered a 3.7 V6 on 3/6, just got my VIN this week. Build date 5/9. Estimated delivery beginning of June. My sales rep told me that Flat Rock makes all models of Mustangs, but only one type at a time. My order got in right at the end of a 3.7 run, then goes EB and then GT. So I have to wait till the next run of 3.7's, which is apparently starting 5/9.
Have been to several flat rock plant tours....As you say they come down the line in ANY order, there is NO batches or any thing like that. As I recall the only part of plant that has separation is the trim line between mustangs and fusions.I haven't been in the mustang plant since they were built at the Rouge plant. That certainly wasn't they case then. V6 next to v8 next to mustang R.
Flat rock builds the fusion as well. They do run those in batches but I have no idea what the batch size or length is.
I bet your dealer is just giving you a line to make you feel better. I got my vin last week and build date a week before you. So your timing seems normal from vin to build. It took a long time for your order to get picked up though.
My estimated delivery date keeps moving to the right. Initially it was the 12th of this month, then it was changed to the 15th and just today COTUS is saying expect delivery on 5/18....Originally I was told 6-8 weeks, good thing is that I'm not in a hurry. Yeah right LOL!
