Convertible Ordered

I have been reviewing this site for weeks and like others finally decided on joining. On May 20th I went to my dealer and ordered a convertible, see specifics below. Then I look at this site and see people unable to order anything, then later on the 20th more people reported orders. Then everyone kept saying that convertibles were unavailable. This made me apprehensive, did my dealer really order me a car, was it a convertible? So I called ford marketing, gave them my order no. and dealer number and the nice lady came back and said yes that my car is in processing, that stage was really long and gave me specifics on my car that I had not mentioned to her. There is still no pricing available. I asked about Job#2 and she said that they have not been told about convertibles being built starting with Job#2. So what's the deal? I don't know I'm not going to pretend to know. Maybe dealers are reluctant to place an order with out pricing because of fear that once pricing is available the customer might back out and the dealer will be stuck with an expensive car. Again I don't know.

I was told convertible ordering was not available. Are you 100% sure? You pretty much got what I was looking for. I am in South Florida BTW.

AnkD4, Yes I am sure, that is why I called Ford Corporate. I don't believe everything I read on the Internet and will research to validate. I would like to know that my order is not currently visible on the order tracking site. But as previously stated, that could take some time. When I get more info I will post updates.

I was told convertible ordering was not available. Are you 100% sure? You pretty much got what I was looking for. I am in South Florida BTW.

At this point you can put in orders for convertible, but since it's a job one, you wont see anything happen to that order till closer to end of the year.

Anyway I have a feeling the dealers that are managed by get after it type A's are the ones that are on top of things and have taken orders while those who are more laid back are turning away the hardcore types from this forum and losing business. Their loss.

May cancel and reorder at another dealer who offered me $1,000 off $38,103. Which would bring my final price down to $37,100-- $880 below invoice!

Tell your orig dealer that you are willing to do that and see if he'll come down.

That's the whole reason I went with CO. I knew the silver, magnetic and guard are all going to be good choices as well as the purple (DIB) ;)

Placed my order today at Leif Johnson Ford. In fact the business manager I have known since 1992 ordered one as well.

Just wondering how you got a priority code 10? I thought 1-10 was for internal ford use only. Glad you did tho:clap2:
