Looks like they are not testing rear spoilers on this one.

Well, I really hope Ford offers this version at the same time as the others, I was planning on selling my car this summer, I don't want to have to wait another year to pick one of these up. I was considering getting a GT if that was the case, then trading that in when the GT350 comes out, but I'll probably just be loosing a bunch of money going that route.

Does anyone notice any differences between this and the cars we have been seeing besides the quad tips?

Thanks for the pics Jarstang

From the earlier batch of pictures you can see the brakes are much larger, and possibly carbon ceramic in front. I thought there was an even closer picture of that front brake, but I might be getting mixed up with some of the C7 Z06 spy shots from last year.

To me, that is one of the more significant differences, at least from a functional standpoint.

So do I see "fold-away" side mirrors ??

Kind of wondered if this "world car" Mustang was going to get them as it is pretty std. everywhere but the US.

Looking at all the pics since the unveiling, it looked like the mirrors "might" fold, but no mention of this in anything I've read so far.

I think you might be right. Never bothered to look as it doesn't concern me much.

We are told the car is headed to Kett Engineering in Carson, CA.
Hey Jarstang,

how did you guys find out it was going to Kett?
That's not too far from where I live, I noticed that they have some job openings for drivers at the Carson location. Looks like I might be applying for a part time job there

Someone from KGP told us. We may be seeing some new spy photos of it soon, or so let's hope. Unless you have some good camera skills and are feeling adventurous ;)

I'm really hoping for a return to the Cobra moniker.. just would be a good gesture to previous models!

As am I. Bringing back the Cobra nameplate for the S550 would be quite fitting, and I'm not too enthusiastic about having another GT500/GT350/GT### to keep track of. New platform, new-old name.

I'm as happy with the GT### name as I am without it but I would like to see just the use of the initials "SVT" and the cobra emblem. Subtle, but with a sense of power.

I hope so, too :)

Very civilized of you to remove the original photos............hope the photographer didn't get into any trouble, not that those photos really gave anything new away.

And yet I hope they never bring back the Cobra name. Mustang Cobra just struck me as dumb from the first time it came out. It seemed they were trying to latch onto the Shelby heritage without the legal association. Now that they have the rights to Shelby, GT350 and GT500 they should use them, and use them properly. I look forward to buying a GT350-R to replace the Boss at some point.

Hope so too. Surprising, of all the pics Ford decided to go after, though I'm guessing it had more to do with where these were taken.

Of note, the 1965 G.T. 350 didn't have any Cobra emblems anywhere on the outside of the car. The body stripe had G.T. 350 on it and an aluminum plaque on the rear right side taillight panel. The grille and gas cap had Mustangs on them. The only Cobra logo was on the steering wheel, and that was the old style front facing snake. The Competition "R" car had G.T. 350 on the rocker stripes and nothing else. It was not until 1966 that Shelby added a Cobra to the gas cap and wheel centers.
So let say there is a G.T. 350 coming soon It will not need the overboard emblems and snakes. And it's ironic that the new GT emblem mimics the original
font of the 1965 G.T. 350.
