I have a Hellcat on order. Got it for MSRP. Depends on the Dealership. I was really waiting on the GT350, but figured i better not wait too long on the Cat, ordered on October 3rd. Ordering opened on Sept 9th. I also think this is a Z/28 fighter, will know soon enough. The Challenger shouldnt be compared to the other Ponies anyway. The thing is a huge two door fullsize car. But 707HP was hard to resist. Well i can allways cancel the order if i really like the GT350 or put the Cat on EBAY!

Between 500-550 is a reasonable target. I see no reason they can't get the redline over 8k. My 4.0l revs to 8,400.

The big HP will be saved for the GT500 or equivalent.

That is reasonable. Maybe a Mach-1 could be 1000HP, Mach 1000. Just saying.

Ford does not have a car to compete with the 'vette because the market isn't big enough to support them both. The 2014 'vette sold 37,xxx units which according to autoblog was the equivalent of the last 3 years of C6's sold combined. It is unlikely Ford would likely not be able to sell that many as the market is small, and there is unlikely to be an extra 40k people to fill that market should Ford pursue it.

It's hard to make money on a car selling less than 30k units a year. It's hard to make a business case to spend hundreds of millions on development for a brand new car when you know it is unlikely you will sell even 30k units.
All Ford needed to do is get GT350 all carbon fiber shell and loose 200-250lbs and 550hp then Ford got GT350 to compete with vette. come on Ford

a carbon fiber shell would be treading into expensive supercar territory. i can't imagine what that would cost :eyebulge:
