Skip the gear. Get some slicks.

My car is a 6r80 with an Edelbrock blower and 3.73 (all installed by the previous owner) and it's just way too much. Highway driving is noticeably affected by the 3.73 so keep that stuff in mind.

I just upgraded from 3:15 to 3:55 on my 6R80 car. I considered 3:73 but the consensus was that 3:73 is too much for auto cars due to their gearing. Some people seem to like them but I feel like the 3:55 is more than enough for most applications without making first useless or having high RPM on the highway. I think 3:55 is nearly equivalent to 3:73 on the MT82 cars with even slightly higher RPM's at 60mph? CJ Pony Parts has a calculator. I'm far form an expert on this subject but that was my take from the research I did when choosing a new diff.
