You are guessing! You have no proof of anything but that the 435i is very quick. And you say that the WORST the Ecoboost can do is smoke it???

The internet police should take away your right to post. Lol.
That was a bit dramatic, I apologize. I'll readjust my hopes/expectations for 4.6-5.0 sec range (assuming 320/310). Thanks for the feedback guys.

5.8 for EB, 4.4-4.6 for the GT
I think the GT will be better than that. The current GT does it in 4.3-4.5, depending on who's doing the testing. The outgoing Boss does it in around 4.0 flat. The new GT is expected by many (including me) to have similar power to the Boss, but could be lighter. I'm going to say around 4.0-4.2 for the GT.

EDIT: btw, I also think the EB will be better than 5.8...

I guess somewhere between 5.5-6 secs. for the EB is far more realistic.

Doesn't the current V6 hit those numbers to 60? With the EB having more HP and TQ, (possibly) less weight and an upgraded tranny I would be severely disappointed if it wasn't closer to 5 flat or less.

According to this single data point the current V6 hits 60 in 5.3 seconds:

I would expect the ecoboost to get to 60 faster due to its low end torque which would help the launch. Transmission calibration, weight balance, and weight transfer during launch will all have an effect as well.

I'm thinking that 5 flat is a possibility. Under 5 would be excellent IMO, no matter whether it is slightly faster or slower than a 435.

It's an N55 engine rated at 320, dyno it and see what it's really making.

Last gen 335i's with "300hp" weighing 3600+ lbs were hitting mid 4's depending on the mag doing the testing. Its' well know that the 335i and Audi S4 are heavily underrated.

Not that the 0-60 metric is all that telling as it depends so much on conditions, driver and transmission.

I always liked the 5-60 times one of the mags did as that is much more realistic to your average buyer.

Either way I don't think the EB mustang will be slow and you will have tune-ability as with any turbo car.

The old V6 was around 5.5-5.6 0-60 wasn't it? The 2.3L Ecoboost engine is supposed to be more powerful and if the chassis is lighter as promised, it could be significantly better than that. 4.3 seconds would put it in current 5.0L territory though, which is a little optimistic. Sub 5 seconds should be attainable though if this thing is as awesome as Ford's been saying. I've driven a couple non-performance 1.6L and 2.0L Ecoboost rides and they feel like much bigger engines with lots of low-end grunt and smooth power delivery, as opposed to Ford's NA V6's, which seem to take more time to build power through the revs. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes under 5 seconds with this hopped-up bigger displacement 4.

the EB mustang could possibly do a 4.3 second 0-60

So you think a A3 sedan with 220 HP in their 2.0 v4 turbo is going to beat a EB v4 305 hp+ Mustang? A3 does 0-60 in 5.8.

Come on. There is NO WAY the EB will be slower then 5.4.

I mean 5.5-6..whats the point. Ford wouldn't allow that to happen.

If history has proved ANYTHING, it's been Ford's near-unique ability to take what SHOULD be unthinkable and allow it to happen anyway.
