....always seem to happen at the worse time
Was driving along, on a long bridge and get message to check charging system. I thought about it then shrugged it off thinking battery was shot, sort of old anyway.
Next thing I new car is losing power, red warning lights on dash, all hell breaking loose
On a bridge is no place to break down, so I drove maybe a 3/4 of a mile ??? to get off the bridge to a safe pull off spot
Saw steam coming from under hood, after it cooled down a bit I took a peak
Got towed home, still peeing all over the place
Found a loose accessory belt
Further investigation revealed the root cause: broken water pump shaft I think, pully is about to fall off.
Calling dealer tomorrow for towing drop off instructions to be fixed under extended warranty.
