I heard that the base GT brakes are the same as the 2014 track packs? Is that true? I can't find confirmation anywhere

The 2014 Track Pack were Brembo's. The 15 GT base brakes are not Brembo's. I forgot the name of the manufacture but I think it starts with an "a".

Akebono? I believe both are 14" 4 piston though correct? For the fronts obviously

Hey screw,

Great question!

Although the brakes are the same size (4 piston calipers with a 14" rotor) the 13/14 Track Packs came with Brembos, while the base s550 GT does not.

Hope this helps!

It's from Continental.

Indeed it is. Hope you are still enjoying that car!
I am, I am! The more I drive it, the more I love it. The suspension is just so damn perfect since I did all those Steeda upgrades.

I know you're loving your car. You gonna keep it or trade in for a GT350?:D

Trying to acquire the GT350 in addition to the GT. My '01 supercharged Bullitt has to go to swing that, in addition to finding a dealer with allocation who will sell one with no markup. I just need some pixie dust and I should be set. :)

Sorry for the thread jack, OP. I think you now know the brakes aren't the same, although the do resemble each other!
