Kind of surprising for a low mileage 2015. I believe they only made 100 and only 33 R's in that first year.

I never understood why a car that is exactly the same as the 2016 would be worth more there is no way unless you are told you would know its special

Well, the time has come and gone in terms of hype. Many have pointed out that the 350 has become somewhat common. That was my big reason to move on to the R. Despite the obvious value retention, the R is a better track car. That's coming from a guy who used to own a track pack.

That being said, I would have expected more from a very limited 15 track pack.

You mean Houston???

I only see the 2015 R holding exceptional value. Not the '15 Non-R

In fifty years, all 2015 GT350s will be fetching a dump truck load of cash. 2015 GT350R's will fetch two semi loads.

It's possible. It's also possible any car that burns gasoline will be worth nothing by then.

I'll continue to purchase ExxonMobile stock until the first fully-electric airliner is IOC. After that, all bets are off.

In fifty years many of us would be very senior or do not exist or reincarnated or whatever.... plus the '15 is really for a collector to stash away for a loooong time and nowadays IMO I'd rather buy any year R than a 2015 model for the same price (or more). Anyway glad I drove mine and tracked it a little bit before selling it w/ almost 5k miles. No regrets... to me it's much better than treating it like an investment display and not enjoy driving it.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

There can't be a real performance comparison, but we've seen this before. History.

We had the Boss 302, then we had the 'R' variant of that - Laguna Seca ... along with the ensuing madness surrounding the procurement of the aforementioned vehicles.

Shortly after we had the most powerful production car in history - the '13 GT500.

Now we've got the GT350, GT350R. Enter the ensuing madness to procure those cars. Soon we'll have the GT500 again.

Sounds familiar.

Forgot to mention these two MY2015 GT350s.... they both sold at RM Sothebys in Ft. Lauderdale this past weekend. I was there Thurs for the preview and again Friday morning but left to go to Sebring that afternoon. Got some pics though... these were literally new with only delivery miles and a few added. Blue Tech pack was #F0094 and White Track pack was #F0117. Personally at these pricepoints, I'd rather chase for an R.

I'm glad to have my '17 R for $2k less than that DIB '15 non-R.

Cars are generally poor investments. A car like the R might hold, might lose a little, might gain a little. Relative to other cars, it will lose a lot less, but that doesn't mean it's a better place to park $70k as an investment. It IS a great place to park $70k as a massively fun toy that might end up costing very little to own even in the short-to-mid term.

I wouldn't buy any car exclusively as an investment unless it had a prancing horse or an "EB" on it with total production numbers in the four digits or fewer. And I can't afford things that meet those criteria anyway, so I'll continue to drive my R and hope I can sell it for ~MSRP when the time comes, and I'll feel like I won the lottery.
