I would check and see when it was made. If before 4/15, I'd let it go. The earlier engines were made in Spain and there have been several engine failures while none of the 16s or late 15s with the engines made in the US have had problems. Another thing with the 15s is they were rushing them out the door so quality took a back seat. There were MANY problems with interior rattles and body panels not aligned right. There are always exceptions though. There are several people here that have had their early ecoboosts modded and tuned for a long time with no problems.

You could probably find a brand new 2016 base model ecoboost for a few thousand more OTD. Then, you could slowly add mods as the budget allows.

33k miles is a tremendous amount of miles in under 2 years. They would probably try to sell you an extended warranty too since it's not too far from 36k.

You're probably right, I saw a 2016 premium auto for 25k at a different dealership with only 1900 miles.

That is a good price and a good entry point for your first car purchase IMO. I personally don't modify my cars so I can't offer any advice on the subject. I would get a certified or extender warranty Performance Package and leave it stock minus exhaust and CAI but that's just me.

Check these listings: http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/Coupe/Ford/Mustang/East+Greenwich+RI-02818?endYear=2017&zip=02818&transmissionCodes=AUT%2CMAN&maxPrice=26000&modelCodeList=MUST&vehicleStyleCodes=COUPE&showcaseOwnerId=67288159&startYear=2016&engineCodes=4CLDR&firstRecord=0&searchRadius=100&makeCodeList=FORD&numRecords=25 .

I actually purchased my 2016 model from a dealer about 75 miles from home. (Only 6 speed manual I could find for sale relatively close to my home in Northern California. Found one locally but it sold the same day they dropped the price a $1000 or so. Lowered it below sticker price.)

I planned to rent a car to finalize the deal. Then, a friend mentioned using Uber to get a ride to the dealer. It was actually about $20 cheaper than a rental ($65 versus $85) plus I had an Uber driver in front of my house in less than 5 minutes ready to go.

I have no doubt you'll find a reasonable deal Jp23rockstar. Just keep searching!

Another option is a base V6. Super entry level price. Full warranty. Bullet proof engine. Mod friendly. Not as mod friendly as an EB. How fast do you want to go?
