That's the Z price? Not good, because if it sells we'll see Mustangs in that region at some point.

PRICING ANNOUNCED!!!

$75,000 MSRP PLUS A $995 Destination charge... No word on Gas Guzzler Tax (probably included)

F@$& YOU TEAM CAMARO!!!
Do not forget aircon is extra plus taxes, plus mark up. C7 is 1/2 price. Z28 will be priced effectively the same as a c7 z06. On the plus side you get an extra 500 lbs for the money.

I just don't get it how many actual mullet wearing Camaro guys will be buying it? I'd guess 90% of the sales will go straight to a garage and put in a collection. Which also makes me believe alot of them will be ordered with the a/c option.

75K is insane. I hope the GT350 undercuts it by about 10-20K with similar numbers.

I think it should be easy to beat the z28, with the gt350 (including nav, air, speakers, sound insulation, heated seats, etc.) as long as the weight rumours and the base gt beats a boss 302 ls are true. I suspect the gt 350 will lave 525 to 550 hp and will cost $60k max leaving room for the gt500

Well if Ford doesn't spend 15k for wheels tires and brakes like what i read today about the z28 will probably help. Then not throw in some expensive left over outdated engine. The GT350 will be way ahead of the z28.

I doubt that the Z/28 will be completely devoid of sound insulation. Just not as much of it as the rest of the Camaro line. You really don't need very much.

The only things I'd want off your list above would be the A/C (as I have become somewhat subject to heat stress issues the last few years) and two speakers for an FM/CD head unit. Cloth seats, please, so I'll stay stuck in place better without having to use the steering wheel as an oh-shit handle during the more enthusiastic or unexpected maneuvers on the street, so no seat heat necessary. Instead of nav, which I wouldn't ever use anyway, how about a couple of the latest GoPro Heros with mounts and some datalogging capability?

Best collector car GM has made to-date! And that's what they will be. You'll see about as many of these cars on an actual track as you did/do Ford GT's. I predict most of them will simply be brought out by their owners to cruise-ins and car show just to get the chance to feel like a rock star to GM groupies.

I should buy one and do nothing but drive it every day to work and to the dragstrip on weekends just to watch those fools gnash their teeth and cry foul!

Spend $82,000 on a Boss 302S and you can race professionally. Spend $26,000-$50,000 and you can go from GT to Laguna Seca and be competitive with time.

I said $66,929 for 1966, September 29th... I figured if they we're going to be greedy at least they can be tongue in cheek. Boy, was I off... I thought the ZL1 was a $50,000 car and was put off by the $56k.

Anyone who pays $75,000 for a 2014 z28 is out of hand. I think that MSRP contains more inflated internal perception of the z28 and it's worth. It won a championship, 45 years ago.

Don't give me shit about inflation, or it's worth per content. It has been striped of content and fitted with prohibited equipment for organized racing. They couldn't make a z28 to compete, per rulebooks, with the Boss 302, 302 Laguna Seca, 302S or 302R.

The reason the MSRP is sooooo high is because the z28 is full of bandaids. To fix its obesity, high dollar crap was used and stuff was deleted. The suspension is a patch on its basic SLA IRS... The same found in my wife's Mini-Van...

Now, because there are only so many LS7's available, the customer picks up that extra cost. What a huge slap in the face... You can sense the disappointment in some of the OP's "official announcement".

If you really think about it, the Z/28 was originally a "slap it on and get it out there" car anyway. I mean the REAL Z/28... The only one really...

The RPO code "Z28" was eventually used as the name of the model. Just slap it on and get it out there!!! Truly in the spirit of the original...

My point is that the gt350 will have all of that and will beat the z28, you are welcome to get which options you want. No issue with you wanting less than me, but I do not like spending $85 to 110k(adm, taxes, etc) and not having the option of picking what I want.

As pill said gm was forced into silliness to get the weight down.

It sounded an awful lot like you wanted to see all that listed stuff plus whatever else that falls into the "etc." catch-all included as standard equipment.

No, I am saying two things.

1. I predict the SVT GT350 will outperform the Z28 even when fully loaded (as I said earlier assuming the weight is reduced and the engine performance is up ie 3600 lbs + 525 to 550 hp) since the Z28 is starting from a very heavy starting point and had to reduce even what is considered basics to get the performance to where it is.

2. I also stated that for >$75K, it is good to have the ability to option it out as you personally see fit. I do not care whether you and I have different opinions on what we would order on the car, that is why it is optional.

I do not see the value in a Z28. It is a pure track car and there are better cheaper pure track cars.

I wish you could make the choice from getting it all stripped down the like z28 or fully loaded like the GT500. But I do understand that is expensive to have that many different choices. Just like being able to order it in any color combo. You know like how Nike makes it so you can custom made some shoes. They charge a premium price to do it though.
