Hey Guys. I've used the search feature and found some informative threads, but the specific answer to my question has not been found. I've got a '18 GT PP1 with Magnaride if it helps.

I'm looking to run a 19x10 with a +40 offset on the front with a 305/30/19. I've seen it done and love this look but it's more about the handling. I know it's a bit big for the rim, but I'm ok with a bit a bulge. My question is will that fit and is that the proper offset to keep the tire and fender flush? I get there might be a little rub when the wheels are at turn lock, but I'm willing to live with that a bit. I really would prefer not to have spacers which is why I'm ordering custom wheels. Just want to make sure I get the right specs.

Will that work?

A 305 tire on a 10" wheel with +40mm offset will almost 100% hit the strut as well as rub when turning sharply. If you insist on running a 305, you will need something like a +35mm or so. Or better yet, look into 11" wide wheels. A 285/35-19 would be a much better fit for that wheel spec you initially listed. We have tons of customers running our 19x10" ET40 wheels with 285/35-19 tires.

Yeah, a +35 wtih a 305 is going to be tight too, but I guess it might fit if pinched onto a 10" wheel. (FWIW, 19x10+35 is not an uncommon wheel size). I'd worry you might need a +30 or maybe +25 offset or so to run a 305 tire, if you're having custom wheels made. Maybe a +35 with a 5mm spacer would give you enough. God help you if it doesn't though because 5mm is about the max that you can fit on the stock studs w/o going to extended studs.

Most of the track guys who want to run a tire that wide seem to be getting extended studs (or front hub with ARP studs pre-installed) for ~$400 for both fronts, and then running the appropriate hubcentric slip on spacer to get the right offset at the wheel, instead of having custom wheels made.

With a spacer and extended studs, you can run a square wheel setup front and rear if you want to run 19x10" on the rear too, and the extended quality studs w/ spacer is completely safe and secure, unlike bolt on spacers with 10 nuts holding it all together. The other upside to running extended studs with spacers, is you can fine tune it to get it perfect by swapping spacers, you don't have to guess exactly right the first time.
