Depends on tires. When I bought Pirelli Sottozero, I found out that 295/35r19 Pirelli is wider than 305/30r19 cup2 ford spec. And on big humps front tires rub on fenders. 285/35r19 should fit perfectly fine. And im talking about PP2 and Mach1. If you have regular GT probably you have a big chance to destroy your front fender liners.

Tire Rack lists recommended rim widths for each tire size, as do the manufacturers. Just pick your tire and size and go to the specs page for it.

The real answer is that you need to look at the manufacturer's specs for that specific tire. They will tell you the range of wheel width that a specific tire size will fit. Tire Rack also lists the acceptable widths for the tires they sell.

Why is that? They all should be the same hardware, if anything GTs probably have more safety built in due to the higher ride height.
Not sure about M1, but front fender liners are different on PP2 compared to regular GT or PP1 to accommodate the 305’s up front. It’s a completely different part number.

As I know fender liners from PP2 are not the same ones as Mach1’s. Because of radiators, different bumper and different splash guard.

The 285 will be fine in the 10.5 but will have a slight stretched look. On the 11 for the rear it won't look good in my opinion and will be super stretched.

I run a 20x10.5 square set up with 275/35/20 in the front and 285/35/20 in the rear with +38mm offset. Fitment is perfect. I have airlift suspension and I can air all the way out no problem. Front is tight but it works just fine. I have a pp1 as well. The brakes are SO close to the rim but somehow, it works LOL. I did have a 305/30/20 in the rear but imo the 30 sidewall is too small and makes the wheel look tiny compared to the front. Looks strange. Stick with 35 sidewall

I think the issue there is overall diameter than the width. A 295/35/19 is 27.1" tall while a 305/30/19 is 26.3".

I got that. But there is rubbing marks on a tire sidewall and nothing on fender liners. And only in normal mode on big humps. No rubbing in sport or track modes.
