19's on a Base GT

So I'm thinking of a base GT but I don't care for the 18" wheels. I would much rather have the 19's that you can order on the GT premium.
So 2 questions.....1) is it a simple swap out for the 19 wheels and tires that Ford offers and 2) if the tag inside the door says 18" wheels, will a shop be ok with the 19's going on the car.
I ask this because I recently took my Aunts car to get tires and I ordered them on line. When I got to the shop I discovered the tag inside the door called for a smaller tire than what I ordered. The shop acted like I was violating a restraining order :eyebulge: and we had to reorder in the correct size.

It should be a straight swap if you don't order it or find one with them. It makes no sense for Ford to have different bolt patterns on multiple "consumer" editions of the Mustang. Perhaps a high powered derivative but not those for the general public.

I think the only area you might have a problem is do the wheels fit over the calipers. Since you didn't mention the PP, I am thinking that shouldn't be a concern.

As far as that tire shop, if you ordered 19s and had 18" wheels, well that just isn't going to work.

I realize the 19 tires would not work with an 18 wheel. What I was trying to say is that if I purchased a set of 19 rims and brought them to a tire shop and said sell me 19 tires for those rims.....they would not want to mount them on the car because the door tag says 18 was stock.
