Got a few messages about these so figured I would start a dedicated thread. These are also available in plain red or non smoked for about half the price of used oem set. Yes they are made in China!! Thanks China!!
Short story I was in contact with an American company to have just the smoked lenses made so I could modify an oem set. Same thing I did to my headlights. So to my surprise when searching for oem tails I found these which is EXACLTY what I wanted. I’ve bought multiple headlights like these before for other vehicles. Paid $360 and they arrived exactly a week later. Only took 4 days to pass through customs.
Arrival.
Got the box opened them up for inspection. Couldn’t be happier. They look exactly like oem. Looks like they used the same molds. Same type of reflections, same looking everywhere. All the plastics are just like oem.
Installed in 20 min, they bolt right in. No issues with that. I give it a 1 out of
3 wrenches lol.
The good.
Plug and play
Sequential just like oem.
Lights up with a bright red. Not orange, amber or pink. They really look awesome. Super happy with looks.
The bad.
Fitment.. Not perfect. Others might not
care but you can see where they don’t sit back flush with the decklid. Maybe I didn’t put them in correctly (doubt it) but I haven’t had time to remove them and try to remedy the issue. Hoping maybe the cable is in the way and just needs to be moved around. Or I’m going to either trim something back there or bring the decklid forward a little bit. We shall see. But that alone may cause others to lose interest. If I wasn’t so adamant about having smoked tails then I would probably be over it. But for me the red has to go at all costs. I will report back what I do because I promise I will get them to fit perfectly.
Hope this helps other potential buyers. I tried to take good pics but I rarely even see the car. Never mind the spoiler falling off. Apparently Cervinis tape doesn’t like speeds over 100mph lol.
