I noticed yesterday after leaving the car parked in the sun for the first time, that there's about a 1/2" diameter bubbled area in my stitched dash. The leather material definitely separated from the substrate, That spot has always looked a little 'off' but I wouldn't have figured it was because of a material failure, has anyone else noticed that in the 18 401A cars? On mine it's close to the inside corner of the Driver's pod, near the stitched area. I'll take a photo once I can let the car sit outside again, the bubble doesn't form when it's cool in the interior.

Not sure if it's the same dash material for the 400A/200A's, the stitching is contrast/real and matches the accent stitching elsewhere.

Going to take it in and ask them to replace that whole section as I can only see it getting worse, I'm already worried about what new rattles spawn because of that process, sigh.

Seems to me this was an issue on the earlier S550s as well.....

The stinker is that the entire dash has to come out to fix it.

Just wait until the evap core goes, then you can kill 2 birds with one stone since the dash has to be out...

Well, that's some shit. I guess I will just have them document it for now and see how it progresses, removing the entire dash board and reassembling it without causing collateral damage seems very unlikely. And if this has been happening since the 2015MY and still does...I assume the replacement will likely do it as well.

Ford fucks up so many of the little things, it boggles the mind.

Without seeing the picture, it's probably the glue failing. This happened on my old Taurus, and I just shot it full of some Gorilla Glue. It never happened again.

I wouldn't assume it would happen again really, I haven't noticed it on mine but glue can and does fail "randomly".

Definitely agree that it is likely you'll get some extra creaks/rattles once they take it out and fix it!

This is the offending blister. First pic is when the dash is cool, second pic is when hot. Pushing it down makes it stay flat for about 30 seconds before it puffs up again.

Oh, that's way different than how mine failed. Get that back to the dealer and let them take care of it.

Mine did something similar when new, I ignored it and it has flattened out with time...some had bad experiences having dash pulled...

On my old EB I had the "premium stitched" and had similar issues off and on. As mentioned, I left it alone as I'd heard horror stories of pulling the dash. But, mine was on the passenger side and angled where it was hard to see, so easier for me to ignore.

I was actually glad I didn't get that version on my GT.
