It's been about 9 months since I've posted anything so I thought I'd share my update. My car is a 2015 model and was ordered 5/20/2014 and built October 2014. I took delivery the day after Thanksgiving 2014. I now have a slightly more than 18,000 miles on the car. The only problem I've had with the car is the "brake squeal" that some may recall was an issue with the earliest production cars. That problem went away after my dealer installed new discs and pads May 2015 per a TSB.
Otherwise, the car has had zero problems and has been an absolute blast to drive. It handles great, it's quiet inside, tight as a drum with no squeaks, rattles, or wind whistles, etc. Just perfect.
My commute is about 2/3 stop-n-go morning and afternoon. Combine that with non-commute driving I'd estimate my driving is about 50/50 city/hwy. I'm averaging 20.5 MPG (6-speed manual, 3.31:1 diff) using regular unleaded.
I change the oil at 5,000 mile intervals (yeah, I know about the oil eol indicator) and the engine uses less than a half-quart of oil inbetween oil changes. The engine is the quietest 5.0L I've owned (I had a 2011 that had the engine "tick" and my 2013 was a bit noisy). It has a real precision sound. I'm also happy with the exhaust sound. At first, I thought I wanted louder exhaust but every aftermarket kit I've heard sounded "raspy" and I hate that. It seems that my stock exhaust is a tad bit louder now. Just right for my ears.
I got lots of compliments on my car when I first picked it up and they haven't let up yet. A week doesn't go by when people tell me they love my car, honk to give m a thumbs up, or roll their windows down at stoplights to tell me "cool car!" I've owned lots of cars in my life time and none have ever gotten as much attention as this car.
Ford got just about everything right on this car. This one is a keeper.
I hope everyone else is having the same or better experience as me!
Enjoy these photos of my car.
