Folks, its been a while since I have been active and calling around finding the best deal for an R. Last time I looked (about a year ago) the going ADM rate for an R was about 30K in the big markets (So Cal, etc), and 20K in intermediate markets (such as my own in central FL), and 10K in soft markets (like the Midwest or whatever).

This is not an ADM thread, but simply I am wishing to do a fact check on current market values. My R will be built soon, so I want to make sure that I am not over paying based upon market prices from a year ago.

Your help is appreciated!

I had been contacting dealers with ones in stock or on order around the country, and last month was able to talk a dealer in the south down to 10k over for my R. Downside is I had to drive it 1500mi home but was a good chance to do a proper break-in. Car is even better than I had imagined, which is good considering I had never even seen or driven a GT350 or R before buying it...

I also called around. Best price from my limited search was $10K over on an allocation. Some one in the Raleigh area was able to get a $5K ADM deal recently. It appears the days of $20K being the norm is softening

I've seen $10K ADM's on R's on hand. If dealers are asking more, they are sitting on them hoping for that one sucker to pay $15K or $20K over.

How are other people finding the 10k overs? I felt like I had to really work to find mine in another part of the country. In the northeast dealers couldn't understand why I wasn't even interested at their $100k prices...

Cargurus.com. Once you've saturated your search within a 500 miles area. Pick another zip code 500 miles out and repeat. That's how I found my MSRP deal in April 2016.

The retard prices are still out there, don't get me wrong. There was an R in the showroom at $35K over and I told the salesman they would be keeping that car in the showroom. He said the owner wanted to keep it on the floor. Fucking retard.

Yeah, I was able to find GT350's at msrp that way, but not R's. Regardless though, I suppose it shows it's possible.

Yep, R specific. MSRP all day long for non R's. I am just trying to gauge the market for R specific cars.

Thanks all

Humblebrag: I paid $4K over for my '16 R, ordered in 11/15, delivered 6/16. Dealer is 1.5 miles from my house. No prior relationship with the dealer. You can use my story as a benchmark and leverage.

Wow. That's a great deal. I'm trying to figure on current fair market prices.

It sounds to me like 5k is still a steal and 10K is fair. Is that about right?

I think the biggest problem right now is that the "R" market is unpredictable, and if you order one now at $10K over there's a good chance that the market could be flooded with all of the speculators finally selling their R's because they are not taking $100K+ like they thought. There has already been a downturn in the amount people are willing to pay for them IMO.

Now add 2018 production where another 500 will be made. I think we'll continue to see the prices of R's level off a little lower than they are now.

A dealer asking $10K over right now with a long wait for delivery is very good for them IMO. Especially if they lock you in with a big deposit.

I had a '17 R ordered at $15K over but pulled out because of financial reasons. I do believe that with '18's coming soon and the used market being more of a reality for R's, the ADM's will drop considerably, if not disappear. just my 2 cents...

There will be an ADM on R's for 2018. If they build them through 2018 that's a total of about 1500 cars which isn't many. Most dealers are lucky to get one for the year so there not in a hurry to sell it.

I suspect this is true. With only a handful of 2015's built, everyone thought the ADM would disappear for 2016. Then in 2016 people thought the ADM would disappear with the 2017 line continuing. And so forth. I agree that it'll end, but I'd be surprised if it ends with the 2018 run.
