I traded my 2011 M6 in on an auto 2016, the MT82 soured me from buying another manual in a Mustang until Ford gets away from the Getrag trans, I do occasionally miss the full control of a manual transmission but there was no way Id suffer through MT82

I hear you. I drove a GT PP when I was shopping for mine. I thought that's what I wanted. It was fun at first but the clutch and tranny did feel a bit stiff to me.

Then I drove my my auto with 3.55's and 20" summer tires as a comparison and it was a done deal. Its a blast to drive and a lot smoother. Not to mention its actually faster than the PP manual.

The automatic's track mode engine brakes and keeps the RPM's up for spirited driving. Plus the paddle shifters are always there if you think you can do better.

If you have to ask then you cant afford it!
LOL? Ok thanks for the smart remark. Your probably right considering I just got my car 6months ago. I'm not having issues with my transmission like others in this thread. I'm thinking for the future when car is boosted. So keep your childish remarks to yourself please.

The tremec magnum xl that fits in our cars runs about 3.5k but I guess it doesn't hold up at above 1000hp. Not really an issue unless you want a missile for a car lol. What I was referring to earlier is the tremec that comes in a Shelby. If I get another manual mustang it will be a Shelby.

Nice. Yea don't plan on going above 1000hp that's for sure. I want to autoX my car more than drag it. I lost the drag itch. Did it alot when I was younger. So the new gt350 has a tremec?

The MT82 is a known hunk of ----! Hopefully Ford will do better in the future even if it does raise the cost of the manual cars slightly.

Plus another $1500 of clutch & flywheel, and whatever labor runs. Probably $6500-7000 total.

Is anyone making more than a 1000 hp in a Mustang?

Not sure what to make (positive) of it, but when you type in "MT-82 transmission" on youtube all you get are clunky, whine, and problem vids.

When I test drove a 16 I thought it was smooth. Seems like down the road these are somewhat prone to have issues.

Any chance ford will change things up as part of a refresh for 18?...or will 20 be when the major changes come?
