I know the 15-17 decklid panels have some extra locating tabs when compared to the 18-23 decklid panels :

But do I need to cut them off, or will my 2020 trunk lid accept an earlier (unmodified) panel ?

I don’t want to cut them off if I don’t need to, but if I do need to cut them off, I would rather do it before the panel goes to the body shop and before I get part way through the swap, and then realise that I need to get the Dremel out … lol

Cheers,

It appears that some of the aftermarket options (Drake, Trufiber, Anderson Composites) do not have the extra tabs that the 15-17 panels do (they’re all marketed as options for 15-23 models). I have not taken the panel off of my 2022 so I don’t know for sure, but I’m guessing there’s a reason the aftermarket options as well as the Ford Performance/Ford 2018+ panels don’t have those extra tabs.

I just fitted a FP 18-23 decklid to my pre facelift, no difference in the tabs of a standard UK dogbowl one, they were identical
