Depends where you'd like to tap it. You could use a bussman add-a-circuit (amazon or local parts store will have them) to connect to fuse box directly, or you could tap a factory connector. The C175E connector on the PCM (95 pin, upper connector on PCM), has a blue wire on pin# 18 that is 12V switched source.Anyone?
Any spare slots will likely be hot at all times, but you could test with a multimeter if you have one. I can help you pick a connector and wire to tap for switched 12V, just need to know:Yeah, unfortunately here in spain we don't have that sort of stuff readily available so it's going to be a few days before i get any of that. Might just have to order one of those bussman's and wait on it. But yes, ideally i would like to feed it from the fuse box.
Do you know what fuse is ignition/switched?
If you choose to use the add-a-fuse then F20 (7.5A) in the picture below shows as unused in the wiring diagrams and is switched 12V (the fuse is off a Run/Start relay). Its to run the diode dynamics DRL boards, which with european model cars can't be tapped in to the existing DRL's because the flicker, so the current draw is going to be very minimal.
I've got the LED drivers mounted on the passenger side of the engine compartment so the passenger side would be ideal!
