You don't need the nGauge for Lund to tune the car. Any shop is going to require a device, unless they're using HP Tuners. Lund is 525.00 for a blower tune using whatever device you have.
I understand that it is $525 but you are failing to add the cost of the tuning device. It is actually $874 with the ngauge, I just priced it. Personally, there are better options depending on OP's goals.

If he goes with Ken, he's going to have to pay for a tuning device as well, correct?

I know how you feel personally, based off of your experience. I've tuned about 50 cars with Lund over the past year. They are a great option and they are more than capable of tuning this guy's car. I'm not saying Ken can't tune it.. obviously he can.

This is what I was thinking. I'm currently working with a tuner remotely and am more then happy with our progress. But I wanted to just see what local places would charge me. So I went by a place called The Mustang Shop (Horrible reviews) to see what they would say. Right off the bat the guy was so cocky about how good he was and how he's always pulling more power out of everyones car regardless of the tuner. This guy even had the nerve to say he knows Lund and other tuners and he can always out tune them. After his little spiel he then stated he won't work on my car unless we move the O2 bungs up onto the X pipe right after the turbos. I asked why and he said that just how he tunes and if most knew what they were doing they would do the same vs fooling the computer into thinking something else. At this point I was beyond glad I decided to work with my current tuner and not give my car to theses guys. None the less if your reading this stick to the tuners mentioned in our forum and be patient with them. It will be worth the wait and you won't be treated like an idiot.

Lesson to all: not all speed shops are created equal.
